LOL, it is about skin color. Within India, you guys are racist to one another. Miss America Indian-origin who's well educated and bright, was still deemed as unfitting because she is too dark. It's all in the news.

Wanted to add this footnote. Indians in the South are more educated and civilized than the North. Judging from my experience. I would live in the south (kerala) but never in the north (Delhi). My experience in Delhi was a bitter one.
There was this incident when I confronted a man who spat on the floor next to me and it happened to splash on my feet. Heated argument followed and the they ganged (6 to 7 people) up on me justifying they were right? Right? How? Things were getting out of hand when a police intervened and told me to leave. Fortunately, my wife flagged down a cab and we left.

Hate to say .Delhi is not a nice place even for other Indians .Due to proximity of the UP and Bihar region , village guys and other anti social elements found their place in there.

Most Indians are racist in one way or other, but they dont know it... political correctness has not seeped into our conversation, people will openly tell their biases/hatred if you ask them.
Only good bit, just like other asians, we rarely resort to violence due to racism, if you are african, people wont randomly try to beat you up or verbally abuse you... I know there has been some cases in which violence has happened, and all those cases were preceded with confrontation of some sort.

Discrimination based on stereotypes and socia-econ are not racism. Discrimination based on skin color is racism. Japanese and Chinese are almost same race with similar culture, any issues it's usually personal or political. In the west, where we actually live in the same community, we get along very well if we don't go political.

If it was only about skin colors, Indians wouldn't be to racist to Chinese, cause Chinese have pale skin! But we know that's not the case either.

LMAO, Indians love Chinese women for their fair skin. Case in point, Indians in North America either go for white or Chinese women, not dark skinned Southeast Asians.
