ISLAMABAD: As shocking as it is, educated people with respectable degrees are forced to move out of the country merely because of the employment issues and fluctuating financial situation of the country.

According to the statistics, 1,900,000 Pakistanis have been residing in foreign countries; while, an alarming number of 880,000 people in the last two years have left the country in order to have better jobs and a secure future.

As per the records of the Bureau of Immigration, in 2018, approximately 382,000; whereas, in the current fiscal year, more than 500,000 young citizens have moved out of Pakistan. Nevertheless, it was further mentioned in the reports that the majority of these people were the ones with honourable degrees.

The detailed analysis of the report clearly states that 29,312 people that moved out had significant degrees. Whilst, 17,609 people belonged to a skilful community and the remaining 69,000 were labourers.

It was further stated in the reports that in the tenure of the current government, around 10,000 engineers, 3,500 doctors, and 9,500 accountants migrated to foreign countries with an aim to seek better jobs. Similarly, 25,000 electricians, 3,000 teachers, 2,500 pharmacists, 500 nurses, and 13,000 people hailing from an agricultural background preferred moving out of the country for a well-paying job and a brighter future.

It goes without saying that Pakistan is losing its skilful people that are no less than an ‘asset,’ but sadly, it is something that our government has been neglecting.

Credit goes to the PTI Government?

Apparently, in the past only money was being smuggled out (apparently all of it illegally), not sure if that's stopped now or still happening but anyway now people are fleeing the country too.

It has been happening since 47 and will continue for a very long time.

What a disaster..

Hey at least we get some $$$$$ as remittances ..

That's the only export worth mentioning.

Otherwise the state hasn't been left capable of generating revenue but yeah we do have big official residences for single individuals in every city spreading over acres at prime locations requiring 20-40 govt servants only to look after them. And to top it off big budget renovations and tea parties going on

What if the overseas Pakistanis decided to with hold the remittances for a single year?

. .
but our shameless Govts takes credit instead, they will see this as increase in foreign remittance.
In economic terms this is considered a big boon because they are your asset now in respective countries. They would remit billions of dollars, as your old generation of overseas Pakistanis are getting old and about to retire while others have settled their family abroad and don't remitt anymore...
The 19 billion dollar they remit would decline a lot in coming years if we do not send new workforce abroad .
Thank God they have vision enough to send workers abroad . All economic advisors first advice was to send as many people abroad as they can just like they have done during 60s and 70s.
You have 22 carore People . Your universities are producing billions of graduates every year and what's better for them to go abroad and remit money back .
While there is no shortage of talent or workforce back home . We are simply too many.
If you have a simple basic knowledge of how economy works you must not make the shameful statement you did .

Zinda hai Bhutto Zinda hai.
To be honest, Karachi is now almost dry of her intelligentsia. People ran away, and Lahore is also losing her intelligentsia at much faster rate.
Even the teachers who did their PHds in Musharraf era are now abroad.
Pakistan either will correct things immediately, or face the inevitable.

. .
That's good news for Imran Khan and ministers, this will help them earn more riyal and offset inflation.

.
This is failure of PTI. I remember during PPP and PMLN golden years people from all over the world came to Pakistan seeking work. I know people who plucked money from the trees and even removed the gold that was paving the streets.

After all if we didn't have this heaven on earth during this blessed period of democracy-is-the-best-revenge, why would all those Afghans, Bengalis and Indian Muslims who came to Pakistan since 47 have come here?!

Check the stats, in 18 months IK has ruined everything, even the Afghans don't come anymore.
