What's new

80% drop in MQM donation revenues (BBC Urdu Report)

I was happy with the report until I saw who is replacing MQM...

Quid-e-Azam Dead, Laiqat Ali Dead, Fatima Jinnah Dead, Zia Dead Bhutto(s) Dead ..........
But
Altaf Hussain "Healthy as a Mule" and kicking like one too

You know he is like a Cockroach, he'll survive a nuclear blast and still be going......

This is good news. I hope it reflects in the voting behavior of our people as well. MQM falling is a dream for a patriotic Lucknowi like me. But the way I see it there will always be blind supporters of Altaf and MQM gang. No matter how horrendous their crimes. They are like the Taliban sympathizers, they will blame ISI, CIA America but not find fault amongst themselves and their voting methods.

I sincerely doubt it.

First, majority of the Karachittes are not interested in Politics. That is represented in the voting patterns as barely 20% of eligible voters in Karachi come out to vote.

Second, hardcore MQM voters will continue to come out and vote for MQM purely based on ethnic basis. MQM has done a wonderful job drilling in their message that without us, Mohajir community will be wiped out. The rest 80% Karachittes will continue to stay home and will not bother to go out and vote.

Third, no mainstream political party such as PTI, PML-N or PPP is interested in winning electorally from Karachi. PTI had a good momentum after 2013, but failed to capitalize on it. Part of the reason is electorally Karachi only has 18 seats for NA. Electorally, Karachi does not drive voting trends in Sindh as we can see PPP largely sweeps rest of Sindh despite MQM winning heavily in Karachi since the 90's. It's not the same as Lahore, as Central Punjab tends to vote largely on the same pattern as Lahore.

Thus, i don't see voting patterns change in Karachi although the census is going to be an interesting topic. With millions of new migrants settled in Karachi, new electoral voting lists have the potential to shift the electoral trends in Karachi if census are conducted fairly under the watch of Rangers.

As a Karachiite and an Urdu speaker myself, the work Pakistan's Army and Rangers have done in the past couple of years in containing this foreign funded organisation is commendable, Karachi was never so peaceful as it is today, I still remember the Ramadan of 2011/12 where innocent people in Karachi were getting their throats slit in ethnic violence because of the crimes these terrorists had committed over the years and separatists ideas they were spreading, hopefully I look forward to the day when the very name of Altaf Hussain and MQM is thrown in the dustbin of history.

PTI, PML-N or PPP

Why the fvck did you mention PPP, those bastards are no better than the MQM, do you want another Zardari for the next 5 years?.

Yes I agree. As a migrant with limited and unproven pashtun links our family since it did not know pashto when we shifted from Lucknow and therefore considered itself muhajir. The way muhajirs think not only vote would make one sick. They simply think all the other ethnicities are inferior and the muhajirs alone had a role in making Pakistan. As noted in my earlier post a nation cannot function when the ethnic groups are at each others necks. There has to be some mutual respect. As I noted ethnic chauvinism broke Pakistan once and can again but we are locked in hatred for other ethnic groups. We have to accept the other ethnic groups as equal, valuable members of the state and think about Pakistan first. Protecting the language, culture and ways can come later and is important too but not before Pakistan.

Maybe I am being harsh as the same problems apply to other ethnic groups too, I have been to pashtun forums and other such places which would make these mqm supporters look like skirt wearing toddlers. But the problems are there. There is Pakistani nationalism here on this forum as would be the case with such a forum but on other places I am depressed by what I have seen. Jinnah did not expect muhajirs for one to even become an ethnic group. He expected us to merge as Pakistanis and if an ethnic identity was needed sindhis balochs and others. Otherwise he wouldn't have used the word ethnic chauvinism rather than provincialism. No one could have guessed we would become an ethnic group centered around urdu.

As a Pashtun from Karachi, I hope MQM is demolished one day :)

Had no idea that Falahe Insaniant Foundation (FIF) belonged to JuD. These guys have been openly asking for donations in masjids across Islamabad this Ramazan, including Faisal Masjid!

Why the fvck did you mention PPP, those bastards are no better than the MQM, do you want another Zardari for the next 5 years?.

I was making a point. As much as i dislike PPP, one has to admit that unlike MQM, PPP is a Federal Party with roots all over Pakistan. But fear not, even if PPP manages to win all 18 seats from Karachi, it won't matter much unless they can win heavily from Punjab where they have literally been wiped out by PTI and PML-N.

use of word donation is misleading, shouldn't it be "Bhatta" or extortion money?

Jamat ud Dawa and ASWJ has replaced em .. Super acheivement .. Double thumbs up :tdown:

WOW.. you have just broke a news.. a news of which BBC, Rangers, and no other media or security agencies were awared of... Thanks in advance from the agencies.. and hats off..

BTW u r happy for Jamat ud Dawa and ASWJ or disappointed for MQM ??????

Mubark ho Mubark ho @Zarvan your brothers are still untouched
And Rangers protection for out fit banned groups to getting donation on name of Jehad

@Pakistani Exile @pak-marine I can't say it double standard I say it a pre plan mission to give Karachi to out fit banned groups in the name of operation.
Koi sharam hoti hai koi haya hoti hai Munafiqat ki bhi Ek hadd hoti hai:lol:

JeM openly collecting donation in Karachi

I pray for the day when Census conducted under Army/Rangers fairly some jump from 18 seats to 24 or 26:coffee: and in PA seats wash out Karachi to get majority in total Sind to form its own Governmnet as Sind urban population is estimating 60%. The census help MQM dude Sind Governmnet marr jae gi mardam shumari na honne de gi.

No MQM did not champion bhatta, that was actually Jamatis and PPP who started that. MQM merely adopted it and perfected it. Give credit where its due, mate.:big_boss:

Don't take away the only crown jewel mqm has in its cap. Bhatta is mqm's monopoly.

Altaf Hussain "Healthy as a Mule" and kicking like one too

Before MQM none has heard about Bhatta..Jamati were famous for their thursday evening and post friday prayer donation drives where they would send madrassa kids with loud speaker to rally support for kashmiri mujahideen or flood victims..I know this very well because in the 90's i used to be part of such Jamati drives and also..steal a lot of money from the collections..

It was MQM which started taking bhattas after which PPP and ANP followed
