Majority of Americans approve drone strikes
Published: 03 October, 2012, 21:18

A new poll has found that the majority of Americans approve of the US government’s drone campaign, which targets extremist leaders in the Middle East while also killing 49 civilians for each terrorist.

A new study released last week by researchers at New York University and Stanford law schools found that terrorists only account for one out of every 50 deaths (2 percent) at the hand of unmanned drones in Pakistan. The survey confirms fear that this method of combat has killed significantly more civilians than suggested.

The study recommends that the US conduct “a fundamental re-evaluation of current targeted killing practices,” which leaves 49 civilians dead with each targeted terrorist.

“Drones hover twenty-four hours a day over communities in northwest Pakistan, striking homes, vehicles and public spaces without warning. Their presence terrorizes men, women and children, giving rise to anxiety and psychological,” the study writes.

Additionally, the study found that the CIA has been “double striking” targets, thereby killing first responders that come to the scene of the attack.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism has found that from June 2004 through mid-September 2012, drone strikes killed between 2,562 and 3,325 people in Pakistan – including children.
But regardless of the harm that drone strikes inflict upon those living in countries including Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, most Americans – including 72 percent of Republicans – support the targeted-killing initiative.

Americans are actually very retarded and easily fooled. They have major misconceptions about their northern neighbour Canada so I'm pretty sure most Americans can't even point out Pakistan on the map. Remember John McCain saying that Iraq and Pakistan share a border.

Agreed. Some of them don't even know where Canada is on the map.

Nice source Russia Today?

Did he?

Oh man, these people are not just immoral, but also completely insane, dumb, deaf and blind.
Man your an idiot, if the American people didn't have any morality at all when the Soviet Union fell they would of preached let's take over the world now!

I'm pretty sure 80-90% Indians approve as well. Its just that our beauraecracy strives to be political correct.

Not surprising.

tsk tsk, no. I don't approve of USA's method. Precision Guided Munitions were made, to reduce the payload of bombs, to level the target with one bomb not a carpet of 'em, and most importantly, prevent any collateral damage.

What's the poor civilians' fault here? He just happens to be the neighbour of a terrorist.

I've never been so ashamed to live in this country in my life. I'm literally surrounded by idiots. :frown:

Of course we agree with it. It keeps us safe. Hell, even the Pak govt agrees...

not that many here from Pakistan will get this, but keeping us safe is our govt,CIA, FBI's job and they are doing a great job at it. If US was bombs away every week like in Pakistan- govt would be toppled, CIA would be revamped and the FBI would be cleaned out too. It's not a flame it's a fact.

We expect more ... it's unfathomable for us how Pakistani's think their ISI is great or their military... That's a pretty crappy job they are doing at keeping you guys safe.
