494 Youth Joins The Ranks Of The Indian Army » Kashmir Life
As many as 494 recruits from the state of Jammu and Kashmir joined the ranks in Indian Army. This was revealed in the Passing out Parade, which was held at the JAK LI Regimental Centre, Srinagar on July 10, 2013.
As per a statement the ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander and was attended by over 2000 parents/relatives of the young soldiers along with a number of civil and military dignitaries. The young soldiers hailing from all regions of the state took oath in unison to serve the supreme cause of the Nation. Their Ceremonial ardor and salute to the tricolour with the National Anthem playing, inspired patriotic vigor in one and all present, reads the statement.

Chinar Corps Commander, who was the reviewing officer at the parade congratulated the Soldiers for Parade, and urged them to devote their life in service of the Nation. At the end, parents and relatives carried out the Pipping Ceremony of the soldiers. Now the young soldiers are ready to join their battalions to meet the varied and diverse challenges of military life, reads the statement.
