494 Youth Joins The Ranks Of The Indian Army » Kashmir Life

As many as 494 recruits from the state of Jammu and Kashmir joined the ranks in Indian Army. This was revealed in the Passing out Parade, which was held at the JAK LI Regimental Centre, Srinagar on July 10, 2013.

As per a statement the ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander and was attended by over 2000 parents/relatives of the young soldiers along with a number of civil and military dignitaries. “The young soldiers hailing from all regions of the state took oath in unison to serve the supreme cause of the Nation. Their Ceremonial ardor and salute to the tricolour with the National Anthem playing, inspired patriotic vigor in one and all present,” reads the statement.

“This is a new beginning, a new Chapter in my Life,” said Rifleman Mohammad Shafi Khan. Rifleman Anil Kumar, the Parade Commander and recipient of Bana Singh Medal for being the Best Recruit in Drill claims, “Now, my parents and I can live with status and dignity in my community and village.”

Chinar Corps Commander, who was the reviewing officer at the parade congratulated the Soldiers for Parade, and urged them to devote their life in service of the Nation. At the end, parents and relatives carried out the Pipping Ceremony of the soldiers. Now the young soldiers are ready to join their battalions to meet the varied and diverse challenges of military life, reads the statement.

This is the shape of things to come - a dynamic equilibrium in Kashmir. Some bad news from time to time, but increasing trend towards normal daily life. Extremist movements have finite emotional and leadership resources, and as they are exhausted, life tends to normalize. Local leadership is the main ingredient, far more important than man and material support from across the border - and Kashmiri extremist leadership is already stagnant, or compromised and coopted.

Unless a new breed of Kashmiri extremist leader is born, the insurgency will decline despite the efforts of Pakistan.

This is what once Chidnambaram said, one member from every family in the Vally in the armed forces will finish the terrorism off.

I recently spent three weeks in Kashmir. Kashmiris are now slowly coming into the main stream. They are increasingly taking up jobs, businesses all over India, the independence and all that BS sentiment stirred up time and again by the good for nothing separatist leaders is on the verge of death..

The Kashmiris today want tourists from all over India and world to visit Kashmir. The region is witnessing a huge tourist inflow and the only roadblock to it are these terrorists and the pro-separatists. . . . They are not allowing the common people to return to their normal lives!!

they are an integral part of our army..:D

Congratulations to the young ones and all the best for a successful career.

We shall, and we must prevail for the sake of humanity because our ideal is the better one, more universal, inclusive and admittedly imperfect.

The world doesn't need snake oil, besides it does not work and does more damage than good.
