Featured 3 cops arrested for stripping, abusing man at Peshawar police station

I have no sympathy left for Afghans after reading their constant anti Pakistan/army propaganda and bullshit. Hate begets hate. We had enough loss already by treating them like a Muslim bro when they keep insisting on licking indian a*** while working and staying in Pakistan

This is a dog Afghani barking against Pakistan, kudos to the Police for showing him his place, these namak harams deserve it.

Showing him his place?

They showed their own character with this.

The job of the police is not to parade people naked.

If they can do it to 'namak harams' they can easily do it to others as well who you may not consider so detestable.

Protests erupted in Peshawar on Friday for a second consecutive day as citizens took to the streets against police brutality, days after a video surfaced on social media showing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police abusing and stripping a man naked while filming the ordeal.

A large number of protesters gathered outside Tehkal Police Station — where the incident took place — shouting slogans against officials and attacked the main gate by pelting it with stones. The protesters also caused damage to CCTV cameras in the vicinity and set a motorcycle alight.

Speaking to Dawn.com, SP Saddar Circle A S Khalid said that the situation was brought under control shortly after protesters gathered.

"Some youngsters were trying to disturb law and order," he said. Officials used tear gas to disperse the protesters, who were later spotted rinsing their eyes and face with water.

"We are protesting to demand justice for the victim," said 20-year-old Ahmed Khan.

Protesters also gathered outside the provincial assembly's building and staged a demonstration against police torture. Officials used tear gas to disperse the protesters.

SP Khalid added that a separate protest was also held outside Town Police Station, in which a large number of workers from different political parties participated. The protest was peaceful, he said, adding that officials were there to control the situation.

On Wednesday, three policemen were arrested and booked for assault and other charges after a video showing them abusing and stripping a man — identified as a 30-year-old Afghan national who currently resides in Peshawar's Tehkal area.

The incident apparently occurred a week after the victim uttered profanities against police high-ups, including the inspector general and senior superintendent of police, in a video that was uploaded to social media.

In the video showing the abuse, police personnel were heard forcing the man to apologise. A third video shot separately showed the man apologising for using abusive language against police officers and saying he will not repeat this.

The next day, hundreds of protesters, mostly from Tehkal area, took to the streets.

Protesters gathered in front of the Peshawar Press Club building and blocked the Sher Shah Suri Road, burned old tyres and shouted slogans against police brutality. Later, some of them walked to Surey Pul Chowk in front of the provincial assembly’s building, where they were joined by a large group of protesters from Tehkal area.

There followed clashes between the police and protesters. The police used tear gas and baton charge to disperse the mob, while the protesters retaliated by throwing stones.

Following public outrage, the provincial government announced the holding of a probe into the incident through a Peshawar High Court judge.

Adviser to KP CM Ajmal Wazir said a judge would be notified for the probe in consultation with the high court’s chief justice.

“The probe will be completed within a fortnight, while its report will be made public within a month. The government will not spare anyone responsible for the incident,” he said.

Ajmal said four police officials, including the station house officer of Tehkal area, had been suspended before three of them were arrested, while an FIR had been registered against SHO as well.

Replace Afghans with blacks in this thread, and you get the sense of how the people who justify the behaviour of American think.

For some reason, some people here think that the police is justified in stripping a man naked and torturing him, and filming the whole ordeal. It isn't a big deal because it's an Afghan.

the whole world know that the afghans are generally wild people. they have no civilization. the world saw their attitude during the last year cricket world cup and their hatred towards pak is very obvious and its not new. they have been plotting against pak since 47. majority of them in pak are just criminals. but i think the police has done a little more then required. a bit of "chitrol" would have been sufficient in giving some sense to these animals. the best option was to arrest him and throw him into afghanistan.

Abusing anyone and humiliating them is not right. Police overstepped here.

Exemplary punishment should be handed out.

For those declaring racist statements against Afghans, remember that 25% of today's Pakistanis originate from Afghan territory from where their ancestors migrated from.

Yes there are some ill-mannered people (esp Kabulie and NA scum,) but rural Pukhtoons of Afghanistan are very pro-Pakistani.

We have some Afghans here on our forum who always support Pakistan too like @Agha Sher And @H. Dawary

Please be sensible guys, they are our Muslim brothers and share a similar culture to us.

There is no point in getting involved bro, if I argue with reason I'll come across feelings, if I provide facts well to them its "so much the worse for the facts if it goes against my prejudices and feelings".

Once people make up their minds, it will be next to impossible to convince them. I think the era of Zia Ul Haq is over (may Allah grant him Jannah) as his generation and the ones after him held a favourable view of Afghans, the next generation seems like they are fed up and from my point of view are less religious as well... Now I am just waiting for Islamic emirate to be established, its going to take time for this bad blood to be undone as its been 20 years in the making, but all I can say is InshAllah good years are to come and there is brotherly love and relations from both sides.

There are many of us in Pakistan also who have a favorable view of Afghans and other Muslim brothers. Imran Khan, his PTI, and the Pakistan military has done much to promote good relations with Afghanistan.

We need a few more terms for Imran Khan and PTI to fix the bad blood between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Taliban government and its pro-Pakistan stance will also be very important in changing perspectives on both sides.

In sha Allah, I am praying for the day when Afghanistan and Pakistan can unite our foreign policies, and then put India and Iran on the defensive.

I am surprised that members here think that it is ok to humiliate anyone like this be it an afghani or even indian.

We are muslims and this is not how a muslim acts. We need to be better than them.

Moderation is a key to stay safe, anyone when crosses the limits land in troubled grounds.
