No. Riots can be organized as well. I mean that going to war for the nation's interest may or may not be justified, depending on what the goal is. But rioting and killing somebody for eating beef is always unjustified. It's really simple to understand, if you try.

Rioting like war can be justified or unjustified. When Adharma prevails and all reason falls on deaf ears, then one must pick up arms. That is dharma.

This anti-cow slaughter moves and protests are ridiculous. As a Hindu I don't eat beef but why should non-Hindus be prevented from doing so? Hindus should simply stay away from any establishment which slaughters cows. If a Hindu is personally not involved in the slaughter of cows that should suffice for them. India is a secular Republic. These limitations on cow slaughter and consumption of beef goes against the secular nature of the state. Restrictions on slaughtering of cows or consumption of beef within a certain radius of temples or Hindu holy shrines are acceptable. Blanket restrictions are simply stupid

it depends upon individual case basis but in this scenario business is done in the name of self consumption and mind it in my rural villages there in Varanasi there is lack of Cows in big no. While during my childhood this wasn't case. What happened in last 10 years that there is lack of cattle there, lack of milk in rural village which wasn't heard earlier and the bulls for use in agricultural work. What happened there can you tell me. It is simple they were shiped out of India in the name of domestic consumption. There is no ban on cow or pork consuption even in Varanasi but if you see there supply is too great against low demand. Where the hell beef goes then. I want to know. It is the reason because of which we suffer and don't get milk and because of lack of it people have started mixing chemical with water and local administration has shut its eyes to hide that there is lack of cow and milk suddennly. I don't about other parts of country but this is happening in our own district. Do tell me the responce, I am waiting for it. People like you shut their eyes when faced with problem. Everyone has the right to eat what they want but no one should be allowed to business of beef with foreign elements. Period. They have converted India into a typical secular country while we are not. We are Fedral democratic socialist secular country. They forget what it means socialy or society which is part of our constitution. Thank you.

About two out of 3.5 million bovines that are slaughtered in Bangladesh each year are smuggled in from India as the local market fails to meet the demand.

This information was disclosed by speakers at a media call organised on Sunday by the Sher-e Bangla Agricultural University to raise awareness ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.

"Smuggling of cattle before the Eid is an 'open secret'," said central livestock hospital's chief Veterinary Officer ABM Shahid Ullah.

Speakers said the smuggled cattle bring with them hoof disease while many cattle traders use steroid on the cows to make them fat in a short time.

Steroid weakens immunity of the cows and it does not lose its effect even after the cooking of beef.

"Eating meat of a cow that has been made fat by steroids may harm our kidneys and liver and may also affect our immune system," warned Associate Prof AKBM Saiful Islam of the university's Medicine and Public Health department.

Shahid Ullah said livestock ministry officials and veterinary surgeons would be deployed at various cattle markets ahead of the Eid.

"The cattle smuggled in from India are old and don't taste good. Cows suffering from hoof diseases develop sores on their hoofs and mouths within a week," he said.

The livestock ministry arranges for vaccination of cows along the border to prevent spread of the disease.

Sher-e Bangla university's Associate Prof Jahangir Alam said, around 1.8 million cattle are slaughtered during the Eid-ul-Azha alone.

He disclosed ways to identify foreign or diseased cows.

"Cows that have normal movements and don't have swelled muscle are healthy.

"They lose their abilities to move about normally if they are fed medicine to gain fat," he said.

Export business of cow should be stopped. I don't know it is happenning even after its restricted and it went super fast in last 10 years.

I have a perfect solution for this problem. Encourage Buffalo meat production and completely ban Cow slaughter. This way religious sentiments of hindus wont hurt and non-hindus would also get proper supplyof meat products.
