Past has gone now both countries have learned their lessons.
India getting secured communications, modern jets and long range capable AAMs with both domestic and foreign ground based AD systems. They have learned their lesson in hard way, Even now planning and have deployed surface to surface capable missiles with Pak and China borders like Paraly and Brahmos with extended ranges.
They are also experimenting for their ABM capabilities.
On other hand despite political and financial turmoil the Pak Armed forces have also progressed a lot.
In short induction of J10CE with PL-15 and PL10, with HQ9 batteries is a well timed move. Though HQ9 variant so far Pak got is having limited range of 100-120KM. The induction of anti stealth capabilities is also a significant move.
Limitations.
The limitations in previous encounter on Indian side were somewhat cowardliness and haste. As Indian jets entered in Pakistan but reportedly missed ground targets. There systems were unable to identify own heli and destroyed. Their communication systems were jammed and AAMs having insufficient ranges.
However successfully penetrated and attacked unchallenged. The missing of target is another discussion.
On Pakistan side the main limitations were almost full dependency on Air force to react. So virtually wherever Indian jets penetrated at least from 2-3 sectors they were not challenged by any ground based air defense system. Now Pak has reportedly inducted HQ16 and HQ9 batteries along with better radars so in any future conflict one should hope that Pak AD systems shall challenge in least time to hostile jets and at limited level even against any Missiles.
( The main threat for Pak shall be tactical Paraley missile and supersonic Brahmos so Pak should further strengthen ground based AD systems to counter missile threats).
