I have talked to numerous military professionals around the world, and the majority have a good opinion of Pakistani soldiers, you may disagree - that is your right.

My friend, Nobody here disagrees with the ability or capability of a Pakistani soldiers.. They are the finest in terms of skills and experience.... But that does not mean that they can roll over the enemies in a fraction of an hour!

Let us take an example of Kargil war, What was Musharaff's Objective.

1. Occupy all the peaks which looks on NH 1D and fire on anything which moves towards Leh.
2. Cut off all supplies to Siachen.
3. Bring India to the dialogue table which will pave way to Siachen resolution and further to Kashmir resolution.

Pakistani army succeeded on occupying the abandoned posts.... It was done without a single intelligence failure... But was Mushy's Objective achieved in the end?

Every nation in the world end up criticizing Pakistan for its mis-adventure!

Also US officers recognize Pakistan's much higher and well-trained than India after Mumbai attack in 2008 but India with high enthusiasm and prides continued dare to attack Pakistan at all costs, US warned India NOT to do anything or any stupid to low level.

Not to forget, Pakistan is now double trained heavily on more operations recently including North Waziristan, SWAT, and some areas, the percent increase to 250% experiences and more equipments. All India can do is to use proxy wars, suicide bombers and terrorists groups to intervene Pakistan progress.

o_O

Ha ha ha.... What a great self-appraisal! Engaging in operation gives you some experience... But that does not mean the soliders eye power increased 250% or he could fight with 250% more strength!

We had seen your courage and valor in 1999, Not so long before 2008.

Hell, even I have a good opinion of Pakistani soldiers, they are brave and facing the worst insurgency since independence with resilience..BUT....Would that be enough to win a war?!

My point is, this qualitative advantage (if any) at the unit level is insignificant when looking at the bigger picture...
The question is what is more important to Pakistanis? Achieving their national/geopolitical objectives or a friendly pat from your ex colonizers?

Well guys why bothering arguing about this....This is ain't 2002....this is 2015....Lot's have changed, India has become stronger in every aspect whereas Pakistan is struggling in many aspects....

Why bother about old stuff....

One Pakistani Officer I know well was training in a course - in the US - was introduced to Game of Thrones - series by a US Civilian lass, who later became his wife, well she bought back the Blue Rays, and now these were taken all over by him from Waziristan, Swat, Karachi, even in African UN missions.

Now we have loads of Officers and soldiers who binge watch the episodes, and the US Embassy has got into the act donating BR's and their are actual fan clubs in the various messes.

With other series, Breaking Bad, Vikings, Mad Men, Outlander and many many others.

The relationship between US and Pakistani soldiers is becoming close again with hundreds of exchanges at any given time.

Also a new thing there are as many Officers and men in China - as their are in the US.

It's a widely understood fact but the brainwashing that is done on the other side has lead them to believe in their vedic superpowers made them immune to common sense.

Manoj Kumar Pandey killed two enemy personnel and destroyed the second position by killing two more. He was injured on the shoulder and legs while clearing the third position. Undaunted and without caring for his grievous injuries, he continued to lead the assault on the fourth position urging his men and destroyed the same with a grenade, even as he got a fatal burst on his forehead.

1/11 Gurkha and this soldier was so called Brahmin

The recent leadership in both Civilian and Military has improved to the extent that they know have the necessary "Statecraft" - to bring the state in to the forward direction.

This means that we are going into the right direction, with the necessary priorities, it will take time, but we have a decent start.

Time will tell...
Problem for Pak has always been the divergent view between the civilian and military visions for the country..
If they can align themselves and have the military work in tandem...things would work out..

Though history has not been kind to this experiment in Pakistan..

Just one example "When you had a breakfast in lahore in 1965" ;)

I think this is identical to the case of when Saddam Hussain declared victory for Iraq after the first Gulf War because the "Americans left"...
Having to defend your cultural capital from invasion should never be the hallmark of a strong military..
But it is your right to spin it any way you would like.....

I kind of agree, but knowing RS - he has bought a much professional, and less interventionist policy, which was a continuation of what APK had, also in Officers mess's there is much less political talk. And a recognition that running govt should be left to the civvies - even though like always they like to moan and complain.
