1999-2007 Musharaf's Golden Economy

Did Daddy angry down your reserves too -500m, defauling while building motorways .daddy angry bhanana doesnt work everytime

Wow
I am surprised with such educated person logic and lack of understanding of statistics.

I mean what the hell does saving and investment have to do with foreign aid?
You didnt even bother to understand what i quoted let alone looking it up!

Oh so your are a mushi mureed, I didn't know it before.

.
1. All artificial due to the economic prop up by AID. Not to mention some stock market manipulation which had some very shady investors from abroad make millions.
2. Preferential treatment due to WoT - which were dying down at the end of his tenure due to poor infrastructure for textile and industries.
3. Where did it go?
4.due to 1.
5. All due to 1.
The closest to a golden economy was ironically in the early 1950s when -- despite the lack of overall wealth in the country -- enterprising was at its strongest. In the 1960s, the more altruistic aid program was a shot in the arm for those enterprises, resulting in the likes of BECO et. al.

But in the 1970s we started getting the two-bit breadbasket politics that basically continued in one form or another through the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.

.
None of Pakistan era was economically 'golden'. Those eras when we feel our economies were 'golden' were those when USA was needing our services. So the economical pressure released by providing loans and injecting $; so we can concentrate on master's demands.

.
An era of terrorism...Hundred of daily deaths..Pro-US government with aid and IMF money flows....leaving highest CAD with no increase in infrastructure and other basic utilities..All in all a traitor...Starting from Kargil debacle to hand over Afghanistan in a plate to the enemies...

Not a single megawatt of power generation was added in national grid during his regime even though we used to have load shedding just like we have it today but you know mushi time is "great" for his mureeds in DHAs.

. .
Of course there is no mention of all the debt rescheduling that happened after 2001
Musharaf is a hero for some because he -

  • auctioned Pakistan's strategic assets in Afghanistan for few billion dollars USA and debt rescheduling.
  • he spent that money to have a party and showered it on his acolytes for few years.
However -
  • He left Afghanistan literally in the hands of Pakistan haters who invited India to Kabul. Suddenly Afghanistan from going as our 'strategic depth' went on to become our 'strategic nightmare' from which we still have not recovered today. We lost 30 year investment in that country.
  • He practically gave away Karachi and Sindh to the terrorist Altaf bhai wjo went on to become the king terrorist ruling that city despite having dubvious connections with Indian RAW.
  • He miserably failed on one platform he had taken over - to sort out Nawaz who was let off on vacation and came back recharged, reinvorated for more plunder from which the country is now buried in debt.
This is resume of a 'great leader'. Mashallah.

. .
you hate Gen. Musharraf because he had to come out on the side of America? then you yourself ****-off to America and serve it? what kind of logic or hypocrisy are you suffering from?
Bad logic..lol though i never said he did bad by serving USA (and UK) just his polcies on people rights causing rise of terrorism۔

If only he didn't mess up in his final years.
Probably taken his people in confidence rather than playing dumb but he was never a politician !

This was not done "voluntarily", believe me I was avid reader of daily urdu newspapers in those days during October 1999 till December 2000 in Pakistan when Nawaz was sent to Saudi arabia after a deal. During this time after the coup, US particularly Bill Clinton hismelf was very agry on Mushi and had humiliated him on multiple occasions, pakistan's aid was stopped and some kind of anti-coup (against democracy) sanctions were imposed on pakistan. Even gulf countries were also not happy with the coup and had distanced themselves from mushi's regime, he was begging for recognition and normalization with US and Gulf countries and then they gave him a deal that if you release nawaz who was personal friend of Bill clinton and Shah Abdullah of SA then they will try to normalize the relations with mushi regime. That is the reason why he released nawaz in December 2000 because he and his regime were under immense pressure from US and Gulf countries, it was a matter of survival for mushi regime.

.
The other thing ignored by his acolytes is. If Musharaf could take over the country in 1999 because of his own sacking and the airline drama why did not not take over the country when Kargil was unfloding. Mush blamed Nawaz for that cock up. Question I would like to ask him when Nawaz appeared to be messing up Kargil why did he simply not take over the country then and fight like our poor jawans did [defeat India] atop the Kargil heights for nothing?

.
Musharaf was a selfish case, who did nothing good for Pakistan but only what served him better, he could have done some good if he had the will and brains for it, but he ruined us, idiot.

.
Musharaf was in bad situations numerous times and did the best possible. He did far far better than Zadari or Nawaz would do later. There were some issues in my opinion. He should have pushed harder for Hydro power projects. I also think that Shaukat Aziz emphasized a service based post industrial economy that hurt Pakistan's export potential in the longer run. Musharaf should have read up on S.Korea's General Park Chung Hee Heavy-Chemical Industry Drive. He had a solid opportunity to replicate.

Musharaf saved pakistan from America's wrath after 9/11. that alone negates all his other shortcomings.

pakistan strategic depth is not Afghanistan but its people. i doubt armchair military strategists in this forum realize that
