100K residents may have to move due to fears of Three Gorges Dam collapse

Multiple Megaton Nukes

Yeah right ok......

Well, regardless the robustness of our Three Gorges Dam, China does consider the attack on the dam as a nuclear attack, and will reply with the nukes to the aggressor no matter the dam got destroyed or not.

I think this could answer everybody's question. :coffee:

Another 100,000 people may be moved from the area around China's massive Three Gorges Dam because of landslides and bank collapses, state media say.

They quote a government official as saying that the number of geological disasters had increased dramatically since the dam on the Yangtze River reached its maximum level in 2010.

About 1.4m people have already been relocated from the area.

The world's largest dam is said to have cost up to $40bn (£25bn) to build.

Hazardous sites
Some 100,000 people may be moved from the area in the next three to five years, Liu Yuan, an inspector at China's ministry of land resources, told China National Radio.

Mr Liu said the authorities would try to stabilise 355 locations around the dam where rockfalls and landslides had already happened.

Another 5,386 hazardous sites were being monitored.

The water in the huge reservoir rises and falls depending on the season, making the banks unstable, the BBC's Michael Bristow in Beijing reports.

The banks have already collapsed in hundreds of places, our correspondent says.

China's revolutionary leader Mao Zedong dreamed of building the Three Gorges Dam.

Construction started in 1994 and was completed in 2006, with the reservoir reaching its full height two years ago after submerging 13 cities, 140 towns and 1,350 villages.

But the government has already admitted it has not done enough for those forced to move, our correspondent adds.

Well, regardless the robustness of our Three Gorges Dam, China does consider the attack on the dam as a nuclear attack
Thus Taiwan has a nuclear deterrent against Chinese invasion.

Oh, the US does the same to its aircraft carriers, so a DF-21D launch against a US carrier battle group means a nuclear counter strike. Thus DF-21D is a useless weapon.

Thread title and annotation to the "news" is intentionally rephrased and misleading.

News claims "dangers from the three gorges dam" and is about threats from caused or potentially connected "landslides" and others similar environmental and geological incidents around the created lake, to explain a few minor and potential relocations. Its not about the dam itself but natural incidents caused by the dam.

Not a single word about the dam "breaking" or "collapsing" contained anywhere in the article, not even just fearmongering about "potential risks". Everything else added in here about "breaking" is fabricated and twisted fake propaganda and lies.

No technical problems with this masterpiece of architecture and technology.

I am surprised that OP still didn't get banned this time for creating endless of China obsessing garbage topics. :coffee:

13 cities , 140 towns, 1350 villages got submerged while making this dam.. That's huge man!

.
This is false news all over again, the Three Gorges Dam is used to withstand against the impact from the multiple megaton nukes, it won't collapse even during a nuclear war.

There is a limit to Stupidity.
Are you all right ?.... or do you even know what a megaton nuke ?

. .
Well, an official from our state of council did acknowledge that our Three Gorges Dam was designed to withstand the impact of a 3 megatons nuke.

And i did hear the similar report back in several years ago. :coffee:

Your official has certainly fooled you yet another time like have done numerous other times... such statements clearly shows their attitude towards normal Chin public like you... which they don't rate above a herd of lambs who would listen and believe whatever crap they feed them... I can imagine your sorry state where you are left with no option to either believe what they say or be taken to some unknown jail and not be heard of ever... or in some cases even die.

Its good that certain Chins like you have escaped such misery and are able to stay in other nations where you can ***** and think about what they say before believing it... Its another thing that your mindset doesn't allow you to do as such.

Now here something which the CCP official will never share with you... all dams would be washed away even with a supersonic CM strike... all it has to do is make the concrete structure weak in a certain area where the wight of the water is high and let the work be done by the rest of the water mass behind it.

Does it matter it is true or false? :coffee:

The attack on the dam is equivalent as a nuclear attack, nuff to say.

.
We already tested it 45 years ago, while your country doesn't have one yet. :coffee:

Our missile don't fall in a radius of 1km... so a couple of hundred kilotons is good enough to meet mission requirements besides we are not Interested in killing innocent people much like any other dictator regime.

Then good luck with that. :enjoy:

This "Korean" guy needs to brush up on his English skills. The thread title is very misleading. For a moment I thought the dam is collapsing, lol.
