10,000MW expected in national grid by Dec 2017

During a meeting to review progress on projects in both the sectors, Mr Ishaq Dar was informed that many of them would be completed by December 2017, helping add 10,000MW to the national grid.

Adding more capacity that a failing national power grid cannot handle is a losing game. Where is the investment in the grid itself?

Need your constructive input @mr42O. Please try (by the way i am not PMLN supporter for your record)

:yahoo:   what do you think you'll get in return? "These pictures and other pictures of all progress being made, were taken from the web and these facilities don't otherwise exist in Pakistan. These are pictures of some other countries :omghaha: . And the last statement would be "these are the most corrupt people on the planet who've rigged all elections, paid up everyone and have destroyed Pakistan :sarcastic:. There is no "constructive feedback" from the individual you'd like to get it from. Its just negativity from negative people, 24*7 :enjoy:

Here we go. I have assigned you guys numbers. You are N5 (negative 5). Just spreading negativity for no reason. Just to remind you, a few years ago, a new transmission line was being put in and that was to expand the grid related infrastructure in all major areas. Mind you, more than anything, in your beloved IK's KPK  :enjoy:. Where the most electricity is STOLEN and the provincial government doesn't do jack shiit about it (they don't give a shiit about their voters either and haven't produced an EGG, let alone a real project :o:o_O)!!!!

A Chicken produces more than the KPK's government sadly...and EVERY day, 1 EGG. That's performance!!:enjoy:

Just to let the members know that during a luncheon meeting this week-end with an old friend from Islamabad; I came to know that GOP is offering guaranteed 20% return to private investors in the renewable energy projects. This gentleman is planning to invest a couple of million dollars in a 50 to 60 MW Wind Power project in Jhimpir wind corridor. The project is still in an embryonic stage as foreign funding is still being negotiated.

Sir

What's your opinion on this timeline? Considering what the progress has been in the past 2.5 years, i sincerely doubt it if the Government can achieve this milestone by December 2017. These projects take lots of time, i reckon they need at-least 5 years to add 5000 MW let alone 10 000 MW.

These will help, but overall the grid remains hopelessly inadequate to meet the demands being placed on it.

2017 is not far away, but then there's always a next 2017. Special thing is last 2017 will always be forgotten

Let's generate the dam thing first. We can fix the delivery problems later.

Even now, the installed capacity is larger than the demand, but Pakistan cannot afford to generate or distribute the power properly. Damned, indeed.

Current power lines should at least support the power requirements during winters.

But i guess there is some problem between the gov and IPPs.
Government doesnt pay them properly for the amount generated, hence they lower their output.

One wonders why everything is being in built in Punjab? PMLN in its greed to get votes is endangering the national integrity of the country. The voices coming from other provinces is given a political color but saner opinion should be heeded.

December 2017, 10,000 MW you said? Wow! Isnt this too close to the 2018 elections? Just an example of how these politicians take advantages of nations miseries.

If we could reduce the transportation dependency on CNG. Pakistan is the biggest consumer of commercial cng :/
