1/3rd of world's extreme poor are in India: UN report

Poverty & Equity Data | Bangladesh | The World Bank

outdated figures.

Your source doesn't say that.

Basically Bangladesh just changed its goal. And judging by the low numbers I suspect that they are talking about the national poverty threshold.
The second time he mentions the "26%" he's talking about how much it declined from 2000 to 2010. Not the absolute percentage.

The poverty threshold is mentioned in the source as population living on less than $2 per day and 26% of Bangladeshis living below the poverty line means 26% is living on less than $2 per day.

Do you even read the links you quote?

Yes I read it.

Correct. 68.8% to be more accurate.

The source which I mentioned says 70% of Indians are living on less than $2 per day, they might be using approximate figure for 68.8%, thanks for correcting me.

If you have read your own links already then read again and again. Its written in simple English. Should not take much effort I hope.

Sure they are there,,,no doubt but bangladeshi member must know the situation in bangladesh is no better percentage wise.
In absolute numbers we suck due to huge population but pakistan and bangladesh should have some shame laughing at india on the basis of poverty.

I have read it again and unfortunately the fact remains the same.

fact remains that u are being totally naive

. . .
International standard is the one which I said, population living on less than $2 per day and the figure of 26% reflects that.
The country is also on course to lower its poverty rate — the proportion of the population living below the poverty threshold — to about 26%, an improvement on the original target of 29.5%.

And this is your supposed source, I guess? World Bank must be impressed.

The deadline to complete the MDG is 2015 and as we are on course to have the poverty rate at 26%, the rate must be quite close to the figure. In any case, the poverty rate is far lower than India's 68.8%.

No it is not. As long as you do not have correct figure, please stick to what World bank said in 2010. Assumptions are not acceptable in any debate. When official data will arrive we will see. Thank you and have a good sleep.

Not assumption rather commonsense!

You can surely stick to those outdated figures if that gives you a good sleep!

Common sense!! It is the only thing that has been extraordinarily absent in your arguments so far. Let me take you to your own posts again. This is what you said..

The source which I mentioned says 70% of Indians are living on less than $2 per day, they might be using approximate figure for 68.8%, thanks for correcting me.
Now this 68.8% figure is based upon the world bank data in the year 2010. In the very year it was 76.5% in Bangladesh. But this figure of 76.5% looked outdated for you after few minutes.

outdated figures.

Simply Brilliant!! What you are doing instead? You are relying on projected deadline score of 2015 and scrapped 2010 world bank data which you only claimed to be your source few seconds back. You are comparing 69% (the outdated value according to you) with 2015 projected data!!

Make up your mind, first. Either argue sensibly or do not bother to prove the stupidity again and again as you usually do in every thread.

China wish to make great deal of money from 1/3 of extreme poor of the world, that raises more question than answer. But I do see india has opportunity to milk the cow, and indians should maximize that opportunity.

If you had fully understand my posts, such reply wouldn't be needed. I only showed the poverty figure of 70% for India relying on this source which is from July 16 2014, the obsolete figures were put forth by the other guy.

I relied on two things, first the quote from the article from 2013 which says "The country is also on course to lower its poverty rate — the proportion of the population living below the poverty threshold — to about 26%", second, the deadline of completing the MDG in 2015. Now it doesn't even require the minimum level of common sense to imply that since Bangladesh is on course to meet the target of reducing the poverty level at 26% by 2015, the current (2014) poverty level must be quite close to the target and obviously far lower than India's poverty rate of 70%.
