I think the common ones in China are mostly on lead acid batteries as opposed to Li-ion(I could be wrong though as they look the same), which is reasonably cheap ($300-$500) according to alibaba and the range is a bit limited (50~60k per charge). The Li ion ones have much greater range but also...
I like your discussion around the issues of comparing GDP in USD over time as the exchange rate was under various types of undue “pressure”/liquidity issues and wasn’t necessarily a true reflection of value parity between countries. but just want to point out that the key purpose of having PPP...
Thanks for that. E-bike should be extremely cheap to run, even its range is limited and time consuming to recharge (just like EV). It is probably going to get more popular in the next couple of years though.
Absolutely. For large countries like China and India, having everyone owning a car is simply not going to be environmentally sustainable. In a way, India is in a better place in term of going EV in one go as opposed to switching from traditional fuel.
Hoping there is more policy support for EV...

Government intervention tends be perceived as negative and bad for competiton. It can play totally positive role in promoting competition, for example removing illegal trade barriers/practice (by certain players or vested local interest, which is very common in developing countries), reducing...
Agree. The GDP per capita figure should be interpreted as a board measurement of economical activities and a guidance to state of economy, as opposed to a reading from a engineering instrument like a speedometer. Many elements are derived from surveys and are subjected to “adjustments”. It is...
Complement with some photos of MG Hector:
I like the bulky look and the fact that it is slightly bigger than a typical medium size SUV say Tucson. Guess people would like a slightly oversized medium but not a full size large SUV like land cruiser.
that makes great sense as Chinese car market has started to go sideways recently and major Chinese automotive companies see Indian market as the next growth point. The timing is also great as Indian market is going to reach the level of income that middle income class can afford car or multiple...
Well, the thing is if the export price is higher than the domestic market, farmers have more incentive to sell their produce to the exporter. Certainly the authority can place regulation around it but one size fit all approach will also create issues as I'd image the production levels can be...
Congratulation to India for becoming a $3t economy. The prosperity should return to Asia like 300 years ago.
Many Chinese businesses are investing big time in India.:-)
We need to more frequent trade expos like China International Import Expo which Pakistan can showcase their product, increase exposure, create relationship with Chinese business people. We also need to increase Chinese consumer's general awareness and perception of Pakistani fruits and food...
Your observation on local’s thought on industrialization is an interesting one, I have sort of observed a similar sentiment in the developedish western countries like Australia and New Zealand. Some of the sentiment was caused by a strong agriculture industry lobbying. We have seen slowly...
haha, that Gagarin story is funny. I bet these farmers would be pretty pissed and confused (where the heck is heads up comrade?!) to see him landed on their crop field.
