Does bollywood help in increasing india's popularity?

Bollywood doesn't have those gems. Malayalam film industry alone produces more gems than bollywood.

Sri Lanka sets up merchant shipping office for north in Jaffna

Don't reply for the sake of replying. Sri Lanka is free to allow the Chinese in its southern regions. North is too close to India. Any Chinese activity there will not happen without India's co-operation. If Sri Lanka chooses to do so then they will have to live with a hostile neighbor, a huge...

Does bollywood help in increasing india's popularity?

Every industry produces crap movies. South is not an exception. Of course south comprises Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries. So each industry produces its own share of crap movies. But look at bollywood, how many movies were released and how many were critically acclaimed ? I am...

Does bollywood help in increasing india's popularity?

The violence portions were a part of south films, long ago. Unnecessary blood splash, bone breaking are no more part of the movies. But Bollywood is becoming increasingly sleazy. 1) I see bollywood releasing nearly p**n movies recently to just mint money. Thank god south films didn't reach that...

Does bollywood help in increasing india's popularity?

Bollywood is misrepresenting India. The world should take a look at Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films also to realize the far better quality of Indian films which has been scrutinized with Bollywood movies as a scale.

What were you doing when 9/11 happened ?

Was watching TV. I read the news that terrorists from Afghanistan hijacked planes and rammed it into the WTC and Pentagon. That was the first time I got to know the name Osama-bin-laden. Later, I remember the then Indian PM Vajpayee denied any logistical support to US to conduct strikes in...

Pushing India into NSG at Pakistan’s expense counterproductive

India will enter NSG by end of 2016. This case became stronger after India refused to ratify Paris climate agreement during the G-20 summit to defy credits going to China, the host nation. This has struck a nerve in Beijing. What's more interesting ? India was joined by Turkey, which raised...

China and Russia have the best programmers, India comes in 31st...

The moment I saw India, US, UK and Israel in the same league and China leading the lot I decided this ranking is a farce. Of course US, UK and Israel have better programmers than India, no shame in accepting that. But it is totally insane to believe China has the best of them all. And, it is...

See how Obama ignored Xi Jinping and welcomed PM Modi at G-20

That was the case till few months ago. In the long term I do not see India and china as foes or being sceptical of each other. Both countries together have approx. 40% of world population. That's enough to control the world.

See how Obama ignored Xi Jinping and welcomed PM Modi at G-20

Slightly off topic but still...... Modi was given preferential treatment by both Xi (Modi's position in the g-20 group photo) and Obama (meets Modi whenever there is a possibility). Ring a bell ??? Some may disagree or even burn inside but truth is India is being wooed by China and US for...

'Ships will sail over the North Pole by 2017'

But all major powers will place claims on that region and contest with each other for navigation control. Who knows some cuntries can even come forward and tell that it was an ancient navigation route which they used before 10000 years.

Apple asks Foxconn to explore making iPhones in India

Even if manufactured in India Apple iPhones won't be as popular as they are in the US. Reason is India is a price sensitive market. Affordable phones with decent features do good business in India which a global leader like Apple cannot even imagine.

Did the 1965 war make Pakistan stronger?

Pakistan is never going to learn the lesson and even if their economy becomes stronger they will only look for one more short war and win back Kashmir which is never going to happen looking at the forcasts for India in the coming years. I am sorry to say this but that is the mindset these people...

West Bengal name change to "Bangla" and Bangladesh's national anthem dilemma

You need some basic education before you can question someone. Go read about Buddha first and get back.

Indian Muslim clerics against talks with those who chant Pakistan zindabad

Hindus flourished and travelled to many places around the world and settled. Yes, they did carry Hinduism along with them but didn't force it down on other's throat. Islam did not spread automatically, it wad forced in many regions of modern world. Few prominent examples are Persia, Hindustan...

Indian Muslim clerics against talks with those who chant Pakistan zindabad

And millions of Hindus lived in today's Pakistan were raped, killed when muslims voted for Pakistan. Many innocent Hindus lost everything because of somene else's choice. I am surprised to see Pakistanis here have not said that these people are not Muslms at all. And it is really funny them...

West Bengal name change to "Bangla" and Bangladesh's national anthem dilemma

I would also like to add that bengali is heavily influenced by Sanskrit. More than 40% of bengali vocabulary is native to Sanskrit. Just like how Kannada has Telugu words and Malayalam has Tamil words.
