Zaid Hamid arrested in Saudi Arabia

.
I need to tell you that the international media is often writing the most outrageous things about KSA and paints a totally nonsense reality of what is going on in KSA.

I think that it was rule number 1 not to trust media before an actual verdict was given?

Lashes in KSA are not like in Iran or other Muslim countries. They are light and not meant to cause long-standing physical harm. It is mostly meant as humiliation.

Lashing of an Iranian pilgrim in the holy city of Madinah who misbehaved.

I agree about the point not to believe everything in media.

But please stop making lashing sound so harmless. We know the difference between lashes and beating by batons.

There are countless videos on the net showing how people are lashed in Saudi. You surely don't want me to show you the other side of the pic, do you?

Then stop doing so before a verdict is given and we know something from OFFICIAL hands!

Lashings in KSA are as what I told you about.

Please post them here. We have nothing to hide. I will quickly be able to see if they are even from KSA.

We support our Shari'ah penal code fully and KSA has one of the lowest crime rates on the planet.

Then lets just wait for the official verdict and hope for the best.

I just hope that he comes back home unharmed.

If he is not guilty he will. But as I told and we discussed it's all rumors right now and we know little if anything about the ground realities of this case.

Oddball Pakistani commentator Zaid Hamid arrested in Saudi Arabia

Pakistani commentator Zaid Zaman Hamid, best known for his anti-India tirades and for propounding outlandish conspiracy theories, has been arrested in Saudi Arabia, the foreign office spokesperson said on Thursday.
Pakistani media had been abuzz with speculation for the past two weeks that Hamid had been arrested while on a private visit to Saudi Arabia with his wife. Reports had said he was taken into custody for making speeches against the Saudi government.

“Our embassy in Riyadh has informed us that Mr Zaid Hamid was arrested about two weeks ago. Since then, the embassy has been working with the local authorities to get consular access,” foreign office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah told a news briefing in Islamabad.

“Due to the efforts of the embassy, his wife was able to talk to him (on June 23). Again, due to the efforts of the embassy, his wife will be able to meet with him on 30 June,” he said without giving further details.
Hamid, often seen wearing a trademark red cap, is featured brandishing weapons on his Facebook page and his blog and talking about “Ghazwa-e-Hind” or a plan to attack and capture India.
