Zaid Hamid arrested in Saudi Arabia

Dude, you have not heard the Saudi clerics what kind of sectarian venom they are spreading in Pakistan, I have.

I say arrest them all and give them the same punishment that is handed to Zaid Hamid.

Saudi are making a big mistake if they punish him to 1200 lashes, believe me that is not going to end good for Saudi public relations in Pakistan. It will only increase the anti-Saudi sentiment here.

And also all those Saudi princes making fun of our laws once here must face the music from now on.

You can not have it both ways.

Then show proof of that.

Why do you think that I care about some clerics that are spreading venom? I don't.

Ok, then so be it.

Neither do I care about some House of Saud princes.

What I DO care about is that KSA should not accommodate people who spread venom against it and its people. Pakistan has the SAME right to do that.

Don't get the crying.

First of all nobody is an enemy of SA specially in Pakistan. Like i said Pakistanis majority are more loyal towards arabs than Pakistan. Secondly if there is zero tolerance for so called enemies of KSA why were they allowed to enter SA in the first place. A simple Visa rejection would have slapped such people. Whats the point in allowing somebody to your country only to arrest him latter?

Ditto!

This is a very good point. If you do not like a person for whatever reason, do not grant him visa or just deport him.

You can not simply punish him with 1200 lashes or throw him in jail for 8 years for some anti Saudi views he might have.

He is a Pakistani and we as Pakistanis must assure that this does not happen - not at least without huge consequences for Saudis.

And that's my problem because of what? We Arabs don't have identity problems. Besides I highly doubt that this is the case.

Ask the authorities who have APPARENTLY arrested him. I don't know the details of this case but neither does anyone here on PDF.

Ok Mr. I think you have an attitude problem. Did i say its your problem? You are a Saudi and one who is debating on this thread. If you dont have a clue or don't like to be quoted than dont participate in such threads. Period

In a way this case might wake up all those Saudi or Iran fan boys.

Pakistan must face the reality. They are granting unnecessarily huge respect to these Arabs or Iranis whereas in return they are treated like 2nd class people.

ZH has a huge fan following in Pakistan and I am sure Saudis by lashing him 1200 times will do themselves a "great public relation" service in Pakistan.

Especially now when they are begging us for the forces in Yemen.

No, I don't. You are saying that Pakistanis want to be more Arab than Arabs to which I reply that we Arabs don't have identity problems and that I doubt your claim.

Secondly I wrote that you have no clue about this case just like I don't and all other PDF users hence we should be cautious with our claims.

This concerns KSA so I will comment on it if I want to.

I don't know what you are talking about now and not sure what this has to do with anything? I don't know the ground realities in Pakistan as I have never visited.

You did not counter anything that I wrote and as I told you then so be it.

Just understand that anti-KSA attitudes are not tolerated in KSA just like anti-Pakistani attitudes should not be tolerated in Pakistan.

I have nothing more to add.

I said that because you said there is zero tolerance for enemies of KSA in KSA. I said there are none in Pakistan because majority are more loyal towards arabs because of Ummah and because KSA is the custodian of the holy places. Nothing to do with identity crisis.

Yes i dont which is why i asked but apparently you dont either so lets leave it at that.

Yes it concerns KSA but it also concerns Pakistan as even though he is hardly anybodies favourite, he is still a Pakistani and hence our concern.

We have something called "freedom of expression" in our country, people express themselves freely. Criticism of rulers and our govt policies is very common. No one has to fear for being sent to jail or being sentenced to 1200 lashes for expressing himself against the rulers or the govt..

If Saudis did not like something that he has said against KSA, they could have deport him or refuse visa in the first place.

OK I understand that you are not aware of the background, then lets just leave this discussion.

All we are saying is that it would be a real disaster for Saudi public relations in Pakistan. And if some of the Saudis is actually reading this, he should really take note.

1) That's usually the case indeed.

2) That's pure nonsense. Alone on PDF there is a horde of idiotic anti-KSA/Arab Pakistani users who talk out of ignorance.

3) No, there is no Pakistani that is more loyal to KSA (other than empty slogans) than his own country. I don't believe that one second.

4) I never claimed that I know the details of this case but people here are already giving verdicts and talking about a case they do not know the details about. I am not the one that is doing that.

5) I never said that it does not concern Pakistan and I am not going to tell people what to write about. I just found your comment strange considering that this concerns KSA too.

People in KSA are openly criticizing the rulers in public and in the media as well without consequences. I alone on PDF along with several Saudi Arabian users have criticized our rulers openly and many other policies and nothing ever happened to us.

There is a difference between so-called "freedom of expression" and hate speech. What the user @leon told me about is pure hate speech and it seems that KSA has acted and we support that.

I already told you that you do not know the details of this case. I am not sure why I am repeating myself?

Yes, one user is telling me that most Pakistani users are more loyal to KSA and Arabs than their own country (pure nonsense) and then you are telling me that because a certain Zaid Hamid (who seems like a lunatic, no offense and which users here claim that they are not a fan of) will be lashed 1200 times (where did you get that information from?) Pakistan will suddenly turn anti-KSA.

Makes perfect sense.:sarcastic:

Just ignore man.

It is our responsibility to put pressure on our govt to do everything possible to get him back as soon as possible.

He might have strange and funny ideas and we can always make fun of him, but in this case he needs our full support. We can not simply allow our fellow Pakistan being lashed 1200 times for expressing something the Saudis don't like.

On your 2nd point PDF does not represent the majority. You can call it ignorance or whatever but it is true.

On your 3rd point i think Pakistan has been the biggest contributor in terms of military manpower when ever you guys needed help. It is only this time that we have refused to send our troops and understandably so as we are is a state of war.

Anyway this is off topic. You are entitled to your opinion. Good day and happy Ramazan.

I don't know about that all I know is that there is not 1 day on PDF without nonsense/insults labelled at KSA and the 450 million Arabs by people that apparently love us more than themselves which I never believed or believe anyway. That's why most Arab users left PDF.

The US take that prize but that's mostly due to the First Gulf War ages ago. I never questioned the historically very close relations between Pakistan and KSA but the relations are and were never one-sided as some people here want to make it appear like.

That's outside of the topic at hand though.

Ramadan Mubarak too you as well and other people in this thread.

Go through this thread to know where the information about 1200 lashes etc. comes (of course from media, where else?):

I need to tell you that the international media is often writing the most outrageous things about KSA and paints a totally nonsense reality of what is going on in KSA.

I think that it was rule number 1 not to trust media before an actual verdict was given?

Lashes in KSA are not like in Iran or other Muslim countries. They are light and not meant to cause long-standing physical harm. It is mostly meant as humiliation.

Lashing of an Iranian pilgrim in the holy city of Madinah who misbehaved.
