Yes for the time being chances are strong for WZ-9 engine as it will be 100% domestic, no issues in its procurement. As for Ukrainian engine, it must have been tested on prototype & as rumored they might be helping the Chinese in developing it.

Problem is China can't go for an engine other then Chinese made, as these helicopters would be acquired in hundreds by PLA,meaning hundreds of engines would be required. Lets suppose if PLA does acquires 300 of these helis, 300*2=600 + around 300 spare engines = 900 engines give or take. Which is a huge inventory & acquiring from another country such huge number of engines will be one hell of a problem, so for this helicopter to succeed WZ-9 is to be a success.

The looks of WZ-10 are awesome. I was wondering how does this copter match with our Cobras. Any chances we can go for these as we are desperately short of attack helicopters!
