Yousuf Al Kardawi's Speech to Bangladesh

Which side do I take.... :hang2:

Saved up some time to troll tonight. =) Cmon boys, fight on! ;p

How does being a good citizen of secular western country help the cause of Ummah, I ask since you seem to master the cause of Ummah and blast secular govt of Bangladesh for deviating the cause of Ummah.

Please try to answer in clear words, so far all you said that you know it's wrong, but you can't do anything, you will move to some Islamic country in future etc. Not much substance to provide rebuttal, sadly enough.:

Once again, attacking me instead of my argument. Go read up on some logic fallacies when you have time.

- I am not the master of anything, nor did I claim to be. I merely stated the reality of things and put my personal POV into it.

- I did not "blast" the Bangladeshi government.

- I did not say that being a good citizen helps the cause of the Ummah (though it can, will explain in the next paragraph). But since I'm here, and there is nothing significant that I can do for the moment, Islamically I am to stay here and be a good citizen until the time is right for me to move elsewhere. As a Muslim, I try to/am supposed to act rationally, not radically.

Can me being here help the Ummah? Yes. Since I'm here, I can work towards using my time, education, money, etc for the betterment of Muslims here. I, while trying to be a good citizen and a good Muslim, can give a good image of the Ummah and give indirect da'wah.

Was that clear enough for you?

It's you who need to look up logical fallacy in general and ad hominem in particular. I haven't attacked you personally but only pointed out dichotomy of being a good citizen of Canada and pro-Khalifate activist(I know you will have nothing to do with Khalifate in your next post, shifting the goalpost seems to come natural to you).

- I am not the master of anything, nor did I claim to be. I merely stated the reality of things and put my personal POV into it.

And I'm only saying, should you not practice the same what you preach.

- I did not "blast" the Bangladeshi government.

A quick visit of your recent posts says otherwise, but I'd take that you have no problem with current Awami govt(or it's policy vis-a-vis secularism). Good we have zeroed in to something at least.

Yes it's clear enough for me that you are law abiding, tax paying citizen of Canada which is in war with Islamic countries and at the same time a pro-Khalifate who thinks Islamic interest comes from before national interest.

As clear as crystal! ;)

Ignore Ignore Ignore. You don't need to fight as there is no Caliphate Right now. For example A muslim group took shelter in Christian Ethipioa Abyssinia when Muhammad(PBUH) was himself starving in Mecca ! Its only when Medina became the capital of Muslims everyone came back to Join the Army! So @akash57 bhai ignore him!

Well boyo last time I checked I'm on Pakistan Defense Forum and it's not owned by you or any of your Jamati buddies. You don't get to tell anyone where to comment and where not.

This is the problem, they regard this is as Jamati "turf" so will silence non-Jamatis down by swearing, abusing, harassing, insulting etc.

Rawami Dalal-Tagore loving munafiq-Islamic name Mushrik-Awami-Indian Rajakar-malaun-digital deception-BSF etc etc

Jamatis have nothing to offer anyone except swear words and labelling people falsely.

lol @ "digital deception" part.

Yes, as a Bangladeshi it is a tad embarassing to see the "infighting" here. I wouldn't call it "infighting" as the swearing and insulting is basically one way.

Best thing to do is to no degenerate to the level of those who swear and curse, as otherwise all Bangladeshis will look bad whereas now it is just Jamatis who look bad.

Anyway I think most non-Bangladeshis won't have a positive view of these radicals, Indians will hate them and educated Pakistanis are no fans of Jamatis either.

The abuse and harassment I've had from Jamatis here makes me feel like Imran Khan.

@Zarvin, Jeevay PTI!

Btw for Zabaniya/Loki and co, Labong is your "brother" from next door, from "Paschim Banga" itself, Abir.

Not sure if he is a Tagore lover though....or prefers other poets.

My troll time is up. You guys are losing momentum! ;p

jkjkjk.

By the way, we need to take this sort of infighting seriously. Isn't there a way the secular and the religious people can get along somehow? Like keeping the constitution as it is, without any further initiative to turn it "more secular" or "more Islamic"?

This thread isn't a secularist v religious thing...I myself am religious. I don't agree with one particular organization in Bangladesh, Jamat, who are hated by most of our country's Islamic scholars anyway.

The BNP v BAL divide is more of a serious issue though, but slowly, slowly with economic growth, the strengthening of the media and civil society we will become more like western countries. We are much better than most Muslim and Arab countries anyway. Do you know what would happen to an Arab if he threw shoes at a government minister? Worst case scenario, his entire family would be massacred...though that is the extreme case.

I do hope your vision comes true.

I am completely aware of Jamat's Moududi ideologies. But Jamat fanbase constitutes a section of our society, and we need to get along with them. In the movie 300, can you imagine how weak the stupid Spartan phalanx formation would have been if there were gaps between their shields? Like the stupid Spartans, let's hold our shields together and stand united against "the beast". ;p

He should rename himself to Yousel El Idiot Kaber!

You are one of a kind. I have seen your lot of posts. You hate islamic goverments and anything related to Islam ... But you are from Islamic Republic of Pakistan and live in another shariah state safely! irony!!!

by the way that idiot has 6 million viewers in Al Jazeera . That means educated class follow him... What have you achieved Somebozo even after not being idiot like him??

Well just to let you know I have a Jamati friend on facebook (we don't speak about politics) and wished him happy birthday yesterday (1st Jan) :D

BJI (Bangladesh Jamat e Islami) can never realize their dream of making Bangladesh a neo-Mughal part of Pakistan, there are too many social and economic factors preventing that. People exaggerate the importance of which corrupt party sits in Dhaka (the Idune narrative is this "Awami League in power, Bangladesh is facing doomsday and imminent destruction and collapse....BNP in power, Bangladesh will have 20% economic growth and streets paved with gold and a Ferrari for every Bangladeshi) it is our business sector, NGOs, expatriates (remittance), civil society, Islamic scholars (legitimate ones not Jamatis) and foreign allies who play a big part in shaping modern Bangladesh.

The US is very emphatic on women's rights and women's employment. Before WW2 most women in Europe stayed at home, then their first exposure to the labour market was working in factories to support the war effort whilst their menfolk fought in the battlefield. That contributed significantly to greater female rights and participation in society. This is why the US is keen to see the majority of garment factory workers being women because it is part of a wider agenda of empowering women. Jamat and co can't really stop that.

Nor can the anti-Islamic faction of the Awami League realize their goal of making us totally secular due to the nature of our attachment to Islam.

All of the 3 big parties are corrupt (BNP are the least worst in my opinion) but their power is limited in the face of powerful non-governmental factors and entities.

Show the proof of your claim that Bangladesh Jamaat e Islami has dream of "making Bangladesh a neo-Mughal part of Pakistan".
