Yes Rape does not require 4 witness Consent sex and adultery requires 4 witness

Can't talk much about a blog's authenticity, but this is what I say: The requirement of 4 witnesses is for adultery, which is, although different from rape, is often misinterpreted (on purpose) as rape.

Secondly, if four witnesses are required to report a rape, then would the four witnesses just watching the rape happening would not become partners in crime for just watching and not helping the woman while she got raped? That, kind of, defeats logic.

Yes, that was the point I had raised in the earlier debate - it seems to be odd that four chaps are watching a rape and doing nothing (meaning they are also involved) and these very chaps are going to go and agree that a rape has occurred.

So if a person cheats on his/her spouse you need 4 witnesses to prove it?? That interpretation is actually in favor of women who may be falsely branded as adulterers. To see it misinterpreted and used in the way it is is really sad.

Yes 4 Witnees are Required sir you are blaming that women or man of a very big crime if proven it can destroy his or her family so it needs great evidence and so family system can be saved and in these case man and women should talk with each or other wise get divorce

My take away from that post was that you are exasperated by the way Islam has been practiced by certain individuals off-late . People need to question with reason and logic without fear of being branded a blasphemist or being categorized as un-Islamic if there is to be progress.

Will the majority of Muslim accept that technology can overrule what is written in the Sharia?

Will the majority of detractors of Islam accept that Sharia is interpretation of Quranic principles and laws for a given time?
And that the implementation of these laws must be done in accordance with the times.
All forms of Shariah you hear of today were based on their interpretation as given by the caliph 1500 years ago as best suited for his time.
And even those laws were extremely careful in their selection of words and conditions.
Therefore.. even the context in which "shahadah" is given can be changed according to the times...
It does not require four men of pristine character.. just unadulterated evidence.

for eg in a rape case.
In my view a Dna test.. (via swab or else).. signs of assault, examination.. give three . etc.. are shahadah.
An evaluation by a counselor of the victim and her ordeal.. a police evaluation of the accused.. once ascertained as accurate are all shahadah.
