Xinjiang cotton boycott: Over 40 Chinese entertainment celebrities from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong kong terminate contracts with H&M, Nike and Ad

Now Burberry suffers China backlash over Xinjiang
Burberry has lost a Chinese brand ambassador and its hallmark tartan design was scrubbed from a popular video game, becoming the first luxury brand assailed by the Chinese backlash to Western accusations of abuses in Xinjiang.

. .
East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese) should unite like the 5 eyes Anglos so United States won't be able to pick one against another.
The western nation sometimes are also not as united as we think. The American see themselves as King and expect the EU to follow behind its tail. While EU see themselves as ancestor of white American and see no reason to always follow behind American. They do have their problem and only work together when they have benefits.

.
updated trade figures tell a different story from yours. They also try to ban Chinese products, until they found they can't find replacements and alternatives, I don't think H&M can't be replaced by Chinese domestic products.
That is an ignorant statement? Who created the negative publicity of China, definitely not Xi but jealous western countries who feel the heat of rising China. They will paint you wrong no matter what good u do. Becos China try to be a first world.

If Pakistan start to rise and promoted from making soccer ball for the west to making high end product that challenge their tech. You think the west will say nice thing about Pakistan? They only want Pakistan to remain making soccer ball for them forever.

"cannot see the wood for the trees"

Popular saying meaning.
Cannot see, understand, or focus on a situation in its entirety due to being preoccupied with minor details.

You prc guys are preoccupied with your own perspective and worse of all very inflexible. Politics is rarely black and white.

All Chinese posters here have experience studying or living in the west and at least can speak 2 lanugages, we have balanced view on this world due to the exposure to at least two cultures for extended period of time.
Most westerners will feel shocked when they first visit China cause their minds are blindered by only western media, living in China makes them realize how dumb they used to be.
Politics are rarely black and white, we Chinese always know, that's why we rarely accuse others of being wrong, but the westerners don't know this fact, they stubbornly believe what they were fed by their media with no flexibility.

More like you are blinded like the one side version of western media. The one who cannot really see is you. Let me repeat again. We totally welcome genuine concern about uyghur or muslim in China but most accusations are just cheapshot totally lack of any geuine concern. They just want to smear China and any uyghur is dead or alive , is never their concern.

.
Boycotts hurt china too. Foreigners might Boycott chinese sports brands, limiting their growth outside of china.

They are just falling for the trap to get Western production out of China. Have the Chinese government take drastic action based on some chatter and watch things cascade into them being an unreliable source.

.
Why does China have to use Uyghur slaves if machines can harvest Xinjiang cotton? Stupid anti China clowns never thought about this simplest question before?

because members openly are saying all Uyghur should be killed, so image what is happening in the country

. .
Now many companies may contemplate leaving a supposesly non political BCI which has obviously been infiltrated.

Sportwears Giant Anta has just quit BCI and will buy cotton from wherever they wish.

.
Difference between made in china and designed by china. I have limited knowledge on sports brands, but never seen any chinese sports brands around in England.
this means Chinese brands has nothing to lose here. you can't boycott what doesn't exist.

there's also many many alternative domestic brands in china that stands to benefit here.

(Reuters) - The China branch of the cotton trade body Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) said on Friday it had not found signs of forced labour related to cotton production in Xinjiang.
The comments come as a number of overseas retailers face a public backlash from Chinese consumers who circulated statements from the brands on social media announcing they will cease sourcing from Xinjiang. BCI counts many of the brands in question, including H&M, Nike, and Adidas, as members.
"The BCI Shanghai representative office once again solemnly reiterates that the China project team strictly abides by BCI's audit principles," the trade body said in a statement.

"Since 2012, the Xinjiang project site has performed second-party credibility audits and third-party verifications over the years, and has never found a single case related to incidents of forced labor."

The branch added it would remain in communication with its Chinese partners in Xinjiang.

Earlier this week, Chinese citizens launched a social media backlash against H&M by circulating a notice the company published last year stating it would cease sourcing cotton from Xinjiang. The backlash quickly extended to other overseas brands.

Human rights organisations have accused China of running forced labour camps for Uighur Muslims living in the western region. Beijing has repeatedly denied the accusations, calling the camps in question vocational training centres.

A number of major Chinese apps have joined the backlash by removing H&M from their listings.

BCI a supposedly non political is now doing crisis management but did the statement comes too late as most members threatened and are ready to leave BCI.
That is the price for courting with the devil.

USA made use of BCI in its propaganda war against China on alleged mistreatment of its minority Uyghur population and Xinjiang.

Use our commonsense, cotton farming in Xinjiang is so massive and mechanized why do they ever need to use forced labour like black slavery in US history. :coffee:

LOL.. They seems like retract their previous statement fast. :enjoy:

Yes and no. Chinese brands might find expanding abroad more difficult. If celebrities in UK, USA and other places, decide not to work with Chinese brands, which haven't distanced themselves from "forced labour", then how will they gain a foothold outside of China?

Negative publicity XI has created around China will hurt "brand china". From your posting history you will most likely ignore my opinion, but this is my observation.
Don't let yourbutt do your brain work, bad for you.
lol, we'll see who slapped who and who gets hurt.
We all have learned Indian mentality. You slapped a India, he will tell you I won, because my face hurts your hand.
