What happened?
Both fate are tied together for prosperity and to fight US imperialism together. US until now still support south Vietnamese regime leftover in USA. Vietnam also last min reject an US aircraft carrier visit this year. They are more keen to develop good r/s with PRC.

The one who killed most people in SE Asia is not pol pot. It is USA. Unfortunately a lot of people got brainwashed.
If you study Vietnam war history, the stories goes. The Vietnamese are kind people. One day, US platoon went into their village. Next day, entire village joined Vietcong.

All the anti Chinese sentiments are recent propaganda by CPV. It will vanish overnight once CPV change policies.
In my wife hometown Quang Ninh, everyone still remember they have Chinese ancestors. Even local party bosses got Chinese blood.

This is why I m pretty sure Vietnam will be the next global economic tiger, it's part of ‘’east Asia development model" , first Japan, then Taiwan, Hong kong, South Korea, Singapore and mainland China, now it's time for Vietnam, this development model has never left this region which shares same roots, culture, ethnicity , work ethics and values.
The west props India to become an Asian tiger, but the required elements are just not in them.

Also, ethnically, Vietnamese are related to Chinese at large and especially closely related to the people in Guangdong and Gaungxi neighbouring provinces, in ancient time they belonged to the same Yue group people.

What's the problem with that? As long as Chinese make it cheap India or anyone with cash will buy. Just make sure you work hard and keep costs low
No problem with relying heavily on imports & not developing ur own industries ??
With such mindset, no wonder indian workers can't find enough good jobs to feed themselves.

It's never OR, always AND.
India and any other matured economy will make, buy and trade. If someone in India (or vietnam or BD or ...)can make it cheaper they'll source from there.
But india is not a matured economy, ur people still starve from lack of good jobs.
