The "Er" in Mandarin comes from northern China, and it's different than the Ni/Yi in southern China.

My hypothesis comes from the fact northern China was occupied by Khidan, Jurchen, mongols for hundreds of year, and that will leave lasting change to the chinese language there.

I don't know about other parts of China, in Beijing dialect, it indeed includes many Mongolian and Manchu words, such as 犄角旮旯， 胡同， 海子，in Beijing, lakes are often called 海，北海，中南海，什刹海， 福海。。it's a Mongol word for lake.

Phu Quoc people pretends they are Vietnamese and -- no one can tell whether they are Chinese or Vietnamese. The government cannot do anything, the alternative is expelling 100% Phu Quoc people.

Their entire Modi economic philosophy is stupid, which is Top-down development with backoffice jobs for the middle class (which they hope will benefit the poor). This has never worked for third world countries like India.

They should go for bottom-up development at first, giving jobs to the poor (like low-value addition manufacturing jobs for semi-skilled or even unskilled labor), which eventually benefits the rich and middle class as well. China (and later Bangladesh) followed this bottom-up model initially (Bangladesh is barely beyond this stage) and the results are there for all to see.

Today the per capita GDP (nominal) for Bangladesh is higher than India.

But India will never go this route.

Let India stay where it is - they know best what they're happy with.
