Baidu Wallet launches mobile payment service in Thailand
China Daily, April 14, 2016

Baidu Wallet on Wednesday launched its mobile payment service in Thailand in its latest push in foreign markets.

Chinese visiting Thailand can use the mobile payment application to pay for the goods or services rather than cash.

According to the company, the cross-border payment service is connected to more than 400 merchants in four Thai cities-Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya.

Travelers can use Baidu Wallet to scan the quick respond codes of the app's partnered merchants and enter the amount they need to pay. The app will automatically convert it to RMB, saving them the trouble of exchanging currency.

The company added it will soon launch its service to South Korea and Japan. It will also expand its business in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

A record high of 7.93 million Chinese visited Thailand in 2015. The country has become one of most popular destinations for outbound Chinese travelers.

Yes obviously from my link - yet does that make it respectable? Guess you wouldn't think it fair for a foreign company offshore to China, employ illegal foreigners? My point was that low paid labour is not only for Vietnamese, and that those Vietnamese where brought in by Chinese companies. So Chinese companies commit illegalities in Vietnam as well as China.

You guys underestimate the camaraderie of Vietnamese and Chinese from the border. During the Sino-Viet war Guangxi didn't want to fight bordering Vietnamese provinces, a lot of 1st/2nd gen Hoa in Cao Bang and Langson.

Chinese illegal work for Chinese companies only in Vietnam. Vietnamese illegal in China work only for Chinese becos we paid them better

See the differences? Those Chinese illegal in Vietnam are high class illegal. Not neccessary cheaper wage but for their skill , professionalism (like willing to work long hours and quality work w/o arguing of too much off time as long as they are paid). While vietnamese will complain and complain when ask them to do OT.

.
Those Chinese workers maybe "undocumented", but their situations are quite different from those illegal Vietnamese laborers in China.

1. Those Chinese are skilled builders and engineers, and those Vietnamese are unskilled illegal laborers.

2. Those Chinese entered Vietnam legally, often dispatched by their own companies which may just try to avoid the hassle of applying and waiting for a proper working visa from Vietnamese authority, while those Vietnamese entered China illegally through human smuggle ring led by "snakeheads".

3. Chinese work in Vietnam because the skilled workers are in short supply in Vietnam, while Vietnamese work in China because low pay laborers are in short supply in China.

4. Chinese workers do not seek long term stay Vietnam, while illegal Vietnamese laborers often become illegal immigrants.
you speak as if you know every single Vietnamese and Chinese.

See positive, think positive, live positive, my friend. And in this order. If you see negative, you will think negative, and end up living negative.

China's March Exports Surge 18.7 Pct, Imports Down 1.7 Pct
2016-04-13

China's exports in yuan-denominated terms surged 18.7 percent year on year in March, while imports dipped 1.7 percent, customs data showed on Wednesday.

Let's not resort to similar tactics, my friend. Let's promote China's discourse of inclusivist developmentalism and non-interventionism.

We respect all peoples of China-sphere, even they might hold negative feelings to us. This is especially so for grassroots. It is always advisable not to involve women, children and the unlucky in our geopolitical-nation level debates.

This advise is also directed at @Viva_Viet . Let's not disparage each other by digging unfortunate news because, obviously, no country is perfect.

Looks like China's annual trade surplus will again be in the vicinity of 350-400 billion USD.

Has Yuan depreciated in recent times?

.... Second, considering how big China's economy is, you better pray it doesn't collapse. Every country in the world will suffer for it.

That's what I tell the hand wringers on this site who for years were forecasting the demise of the U.S. Look what happened to the markets when Greece defaulted. Imagine China or the U.S. That said, China has 300,000,000 people 'living the dream', and a BILLION without a pot to piss in. And before you even say it, poverty in the U.S. and poverty in China are two totally different animals. And another funny thing about this site. Why are the bulk of the Chinese boosters flying a U.S. flag? What are you doing here ? Why aren't you home, or in Russia or Iran ? :usflag:

"Would you like to collapse with us?"

First of all, there is actually little risk of China collapsing. Second, considering how big China's economy is, you better pray it doesn't collapse. Every country in the world will suffer for it.

The communist are turning out to be better money managers than the capitalist..what on earth the world has come to...
Capitalists are facing financial collapse while communist are having economic growth!

China's economy expands 6.7% in Q1, signalling stabilization

China's economy grew by 6.7 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2016 to reach 15.9 trillion yuan (US$2.4 trillion), according to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBC) on Friday.

Although it is the slowest quarterly growth in the Chinese economy in seven years, the NBS said at the press conference on Friday that "major indictors have shown positive changes."

Other economic indicators, such as fixed-asset investment growth and retail sales, suggest the world's second-largest economy is stabilizing.

One of the "positive changes" is the fast growth of the tertiary industry, showing a 7.6 percent year-on-year jump in the first quarter, significantly higher than the rates for industry as a whole and agriculture, which were 5.8 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively.

Consumers also appear to be spending, with retail sales registering a robust 10.3% jump for the first quarter.

The fast growth of some new growth engines, such as internet-related sectors and advanced manufacturing, is also encouraging, the NBS said.

Fixed-asset investment rose 10.7 percent year on year in the first quarter, a faster expansion than last year's 10 percent. Investment in the property sector grew 6.2 percent, accelerating from 1 percent for the whole of 2015.

Industrial output expanded 5.8 percent, accelerating from the 5.4-percent increase for the January-February period.

Zhao Chenxin, spokesman for the National Development and Reform Commission, said major economic indicators show that the economic fundamentals have improved, although it is too early to say that the economy has started to bottom out.

Authorities have taken a string of measures to mitigate the downshift, cutting interest rates, reducing taxes, slashing overcapacity and initiating reforms to improve efficiency.

Thanks to those moves, the economy has seen some improvement since the beginning of this year, with exports and industrial profits returning to growth, manufacturing activity picking up and power use accelerating.

Earlier this week, the International Monetary Fund raised its forecast for China's growth in 2016 and 2017 to 6.5 percent and 6.2 percent respectively, both up 0.2 percentage points from its January predictions.

NBS spokesperson Sheng Laiyun said there are signs of China's economy "bottoming out," but warned of persisting downward pressure due to uncertainty in the global economy and difficulties in the country's structural shift to consumption-driven growth and entrepreneurship.

Don't worry, I mostly agree with you. A collapse of greece is said to have major negative impact on the global market; the collapse of the US or China would absolutely destroy a number of nations.

There are many reasons that foreigners are working "illegally" in Vietnam, which include Chinese, South Koreans, Japanese, Europeans and people from other countries.

1. Your government did not issue working permits on a timely manner;
2. The construction projects won by respective companies prefer to use their own builders and engineers to ensure the quality and to keep the schedule, which they are ultimately responsible for.
3. The local work force lack the required skill sets, and due to the time constrain, the contractors did not have enough time and resource to train locals to the same level.
4.The local work force are not as disciplined and/or efficient as those foreign workers.
5. Language barrier.
