Would Iraq want Pakistan to join anti IS operations?

The threat of IS is an ideological one and it can only be hammered if they are defeated on the battlefield. This ideology also harms Pakistan as according to Pakistani Intelligence sources, we are a 'prime target' for this terrorist movement.

Pakistan has helped Iraq and Syria in the past by dispatching fighter pilots. The defense of Damascus was planned by none other than the Sq Ldr MM ALAM, the greatest Pakistani fighter ace during the Arab Israeli war.

Today we continue to help Iraq by servicing its arms requirements, broad training program including Spec Ops and diplomacy. I was wondering what would be Iraqi opinion if Pakistan dispatched some contribution i.e Counter insurgency experts from our rather experianced intel services, ISR or even some strike assets to Iraq for fighting IS?

I also think Pakistan itself is the bigger priority here. You should completely defeat terrorism (is it even possible? I've started to wonder recently). After that, Pakistan will open its way to become a major powerhouse which can also help other nations in need, like Iraq. But there are more than enough forces in Iraq to counter IS, just more training is needed which is underway.

Defeating TTP and LeJ in home is no less important than defeating IS in another country.

Valid points, however IS threat to Pakistan is growing real as TTP dogs pledge loyalty to them. If we can target the IS in its strong holds, it will send a strong message to those IS supporters who beheaded one of our POWs.

We don't have to dispatch an Army but helping IQAF in ISR, Air Intel and other specialised areas like mission planning etc can be a viable option.

A recent documentary shows a person from Salahdin province who stated that he & the rest in the city first welcomed ISIS as liberators later on they viewed them as enemies, he said that whilst smoking hookah in a cafe in Baghdad instead of fighting to retake his house. As you can see this is 1 person who saw the face of ISIS which is 1 less supporter of ISIS making it easier to defeat ISIS. Let ISIS carry out some more massacres of their Sunni brothers so they'll quit supporting them. That's the only way to defeat them hence no ISIS in the south of the country.

More support isn't needed, let the locals do it.

Syria and Iraq each enjoy multinational support especially iraq who is kicking ISIS so hard right now .

if i was in charge in pakistan , i would campaign for the same thing : Free of charge military and financial support .

it's not a shame to be stricken by terrorism cause you didn't ask for it , and its not a shame too seek support from neighbors and friendly muslim countries either . we all know how powerful your army is , but this is not a fight that you can win alone as it is completely apparent from the latest acts of terror in pakistan

By defeating any Taliban affiliated group, you are also killing any IS infant group in Pakistan. You should focus on the stronger, more organized terrorists here, while having an eye on any serious IS activity.

You could certainly join the fight or support it at least through the 60+ member US-led coalition against IS. Contributions may be limited to aid for instance, depends how far Pak is willing to go. Egypt for instance is providing arms to the IA and has started training some of their forces, while the General Intelligence Directorate is working the intel angle, however, the Armed Forces has so far been reluctant to offer troops or strikes.

As far as I'm aware the Iraqis want and need all the help they can get, whether its political backing or military involvement.
