Worsening US-Saudi relations

.
Hand writing has been on the wall for awhile. GCC will have to be non-aligned in the new cold war. MENA region should work on its own block.....Pakistan should support this. MENA region has potential to be a super power in its right.

But this time side with China hopefully.

Huge mistake to side with USA completely during the Cold War.

There’s a reason:

-US is the largest producer of oil now.

-OPEC is losing it’s cartel leverage that it had for decades.

- Western countries are moving away from Hydrocarbon towards renewables and EVs.

- Significant technological progress has been made towards other form of energy resources.

- Saudi oil reserves are limited and US knew how long they going to last at current production rates.

In short, oil rich Habibis aren’t important any more.
What's going to back US dollar...Saudis/Arab oil producers still have their usefulness...without petro dollar, dollar is not even worth the paper it's printed on...

.
USA won't let go 911 easily. They are looking for massive compensation from KSA.

Most probably.

Federal reserve will figure something out. After all it’s not even paper anymore, just virtual numbers backed by nothing but hope that others will honor the system.

.
Perhaps this is why Saudi has been buying more Russian weapons and Chinese weapons recently.

Big mistake by Saudi to accept israel
when did it do that? they say that they will recognize Israel one day after it recognizes Palestine
US forced Saudi Arabia to recognise Israel, as soon as that happened US abandoned Saudis.
untrue
U.S. removes missile defenses from Saudi Arabia
distortion, there were two sets of defenses, one purchased by Saudis which will remain, another set owned by the US which was there to defend their assets which have now been shifted elsewhere.

don't you think it would be rather stupid to leave them thaad and patriot batteries behind in now emptied bases?
What's going to back US dollar..
American war machine

.
My prediction: highly likely that KSA will be the next theatre of war. ......... Watch the trail ..............

Good, hopefully Saudi Arabia will ditch USA for China.
Geopolitical realities of different countries are not the same, and not a zero sum game. It is not easy to ditch a superpower at the first sign of friction.

US-Saudi tensions are nothing new to begin with:

USA used to be the largest exporter of oil from KSA but this dynamic changed due to American Shale Revolution. KSA is now looking forward to diversify its economic system under Muhammad Bin Salman.

KSA have problems with Iran and its proxies as well (virtually surrounded), and China is not eager to pick sides in this matter. USA made it possible for KSA to blunt Houthi attacks thus far. Saudi have very limited experience in warfare of its own.

KSA have dealings with many countries including Russia and China. Saudi are not stupid however; no country is sufficient substitute for the other in Saudi calculus. This is better.

Eventually China will have a larger economy than USA. Plus the Chinese do not have a history of being treacherous like USA has been.

Bit off-topic, for the lovers of Succession series.

Depends upon the country and its geopolitics. USA have been an excellent partner to 'some' countries including Qatar and Kuwait. USA went as far as to liberate Kuwait from Iraq and neutralize its threat to KSA.

Now Iran is staring down at KSA.

The real test of China will be in times of its much expanded presence around the world (assuming this happens). Different countries present different geopolitical challenges and internal political dynamics to any outsider. China might have to pick sides in these courtings at some point as well. If China chooses not to then it cannot substitute USA for some countries. The world will be solidly multipolar as projected.

China can also be 'aggressive' in its Foreign relations. Just look at the developments in Sri Lanka, South China Sea, Taiwan and the LAC respectively.

Pakistan-China relationship is not a template for Chinese dealings with the rest of the world. Too early to judge what China will or not will not do in the future.
