It detaches one from intellectual honesty and entice falsehood. It is mentioned in the article that such luxury is uncalled for a poor country like BD and normally influential powers tend to do more foreign trips to exercise influence. Even then hillary clinton couldn't compete with our FM.

What do U suggest with the map. Why does the FM need to travel to those countries without missions or that doesn't matter much in world politics. We can't afford having missions in trinidad & tobago or Burkina Faso leaving countries that matters. We don't even have diplomatic missions in S.africa yet. What do we have to do with djibouti or costa Rica when we have a ruined relation with US and KSA. This doesn't mean that FM travelling to every country now & then means enhancing ties. 20 min photo session with cultural ministers don't equate to any diplomatic BS.

And lastly I would take the word of our own diplomats then some foreigner with intellectual dishonesty.

I know you ll say why does Bangladesh need to improve relationship with countries of no importance, there could be a lot of reasons, getting support in the UN or WTO could be one. You have a very myopic outlook of how a nation works, how diplomacy works.

Dhaka, July 21 (Just News) : Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni has lamented that foreign ministers of some developed countries have aero planes to go from one place to another and make overseas trip but the Bangladesh foreign minister does not have a jet plane at her disposal.

She was addressing the reporters at a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday afternoon.

Brushing aside the report published in local newspapers on her frequent foreign tours, Dipu Moni claimed that an orchestrated campaign is going on against the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

“It seems an anti-Foreign Minister campaign is on. There’s no doubt that the reports, both in English and Bengali dailies, are untrue, fabricated, baseless and motivated,” Dipu told the journalists.

Providing data on her total number of foreign tours, including bilateral, multilateral and regional ones that differ from the newspaper reports, she said those involved in preparing reports lack proper mathematical knowledge too.

Defending her visits, Dipu Moni said the successes that came for the country had been possible due to Bangladesh’s active engagement in global forums and with various countries. “Where there’s success, there might be some criticism out of jealousy. But the reports should be objective.”

The Foreign Minister said she has so far taken 114 foreign tours though newspaper reports say she had been on tours for 180-190 times. “Meanwhile, I stayed abroad for 517 days, including my travel times, but the newspapers reported that it was 600 days. Over 50 days have been spent on attending UN programmes.”

She also said there were 36 VVIP visits, 62 bilateral tours, but not 17, and there were tour for seven times to attend UN programmes and eight times for multilateral programmes.

Justifying her longer travel times compared to the US Foreign Minister, Dipu said, “Since the report compares me with the US Foreign Minister, I must clarify. The US Foreign Minister uses a special jet for traveling from one capital to another. But I need to take two-three flights some times to reach a particular destination. So, my travel time will sure be longer than him.” (Fair point I must say)

The Foreign Minister also said the report about her foreign visit by a particular national daily will be a thing of preserve for the future generation. Responding to a question, the Foreign Minister said the newspaper did not publish her rejoinder properly. “As a citizen of the country, I’ll take necessary steps against it.”

Dipu said she would be visiting India for three days from July 25 and she will have meetings with Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. “My meeting with the Indian Prime Minister has been confirmed. I’ll discuss the matter again there.”

U are simply beating around the bush. The bottom line is that BD's FM did 187 tours staying 600 days abroad surpassing the FM of most influential super power of the world? The no. of days stayed and too frequent tours is unprecedented even for FM of a global power. Even if U go by Dipu Moni's statement, 517 days would mean she spent 1 out of every 3 days abroad. Whether Latvia wants to have relations with BD or not is irrelevant here. The issue is unprecedented no. of foreign tours by BD's FM with tax payers money in the backdrop of a pathetic foreign policy that have not much to show as success over the last 4 years.

রহস্যজনক ভ্রমণ বিল: ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শান্তি ও সংঘর্ষ বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী শামীন হোসেন তার গবেষণার কাজে সর্বোচ্চ সংখ্যক বিদেশ সফরকারী দীপু মনির সফরের বিস্তারিত বিবরণ (উদ্দেশ্য ও ব্যয়স&#2489 চেয়ে তথ্য অধিকার আইনে আবেদন করেছিলেন। গত বছরের শুরুর দিকে তিনি আবেদনটি করেন। বেশ কাঠখড় পুড়িয়ে মধ্য জুনের দিকে তা হাসিল করতে সমর্থ হন। পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর দপ্তর থেকে মন্ত্রণালয়ের বহিঃপ্রচার অনুবিভাগের মাধ্যমে ওই গবেষককে একটি বিবরণী সরবরাহ হলেও সেখানে প্রতিটি ভ্রমণে মন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে ক’জন সফরসঙ্গী ছিলেন, তাদের পেছনে রাষ্ট্রের কত অর্থ ব্যয় হয়েছে তা উল্লেখ করা হয়নি। ওই বিবরণীতে শুধুমাত্র মন্ত্রীর (২০০৯-এর জানুয়ারি থেকে ২০১১-এর ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্&#2468 ৭৫টি প্যকেজ ট্যুর (সিঙ্গেল হিসাবে ১১২টি সফ&#2480-এর হিসাব দেয়া হয়। ওই তিন বছরে বিমান ভাড়া, হোটেলের স্যুইট ভাড়া ও অন্যান্য ভাতা বাবদ রাষ্ট্রীয় কোষাগার থেকে মন্ত্রীর একাউন্টে ৪ কোটি ৪৬ লাখ ৬৪ হাজার ৯৫৯ টাকা গেছে বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়। ২০১২’র জানুয়ারি থেকে ২০১৩ সালের ১০ই জুলাই পর্যন্ত মন্ত্রী আরও ৭৫টি সফর করেছেন। মন্ত্রণালয়ের বাজেট বিভাগ সূত্রের দাবি, সফরের মোট হিসাব মন্ত্রীর দপ্তরে সংরক্ষণ করা হয়। বিল-ভাউচার জমা দেয়ার জন্য এক কর্মকর্তাকে দায়িত্ব দেয়া আছে। নতুন অর্থ বছরের বিলগুলো ছাড়া সমুদয় বিল স্ব স্ব অর্থবছর থেকে সমন্বয় করা হয়েছে জানিয়ে বাজেট বিভাগের ওই কর্মকর্তা বলেন, মন্ত্রী এ পর্যন্ত কত দেশ ভ্রমণ করেছেন, সফরসঙ্গীর মোট সংখ্যা কত, তাদের যাতায়াত, আবাসন, অভ্যন্তরীণ যোগাযোগ ইত্যাদিতে রাষ্ট্রের কত অর্থ ব্যয় হয়েছে তার খাতওয়ারি তথ্য চেয়ে একজন গবেষক আবেদন করেছেন। এর একটি হিসাব বিবরণী তৈরি হচ্ছে। বাজেট বিভাগের ওই কর্মকর্তা তাৎক্ষণিক কোন হিসাব দিতে পারেননি। তবে তিনি গত মাসে মন্ত্রীর আলোচিত আজারবাইজান টু যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ভায়া জেনেভা ট্যুরের বিলের উদাহরণ দিয়ে বলেন, ত্রিদেশীয় এ ট্যুরে মন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গীরা প্রত্যেকে প্রায় ৫ লাখ টাকা করে বিল দেখিয়েছেন। চারজন সার্বক্ষণিক তার সঙ্গে ছিলেন। তাদের প্রত্যেকের জন্য ইকোনমি ক্লাস ও হোটেলের সাধারণ রুম ছিল। কর্মকর্তা কিংবা অন্য সফরসঙ্গীদের চেয়ে মন্ত্রী কয়েক গুণ বেশি সুবিধা পান। সরকারি নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী, বিমানের ফার্স্ট ক্লাসে ভ্রমণ (না পেলে বিজনেস ক্লা&#2488 ও হোটেলে মডারেট স্যুইট (প্রতি রাতের জন্য ২৯৫-৪২০ ডলা&#2480 ছাড়াও নগদ ভাতা, হাতখরচ, ট্রানজিট ভাতা, টার্মিনাল ভাতা, আপ্যায়ন ভাতা, প্রতিনিধি দলের দলনেতা হিসেবে আনুষঙ্গিক ভাতা, বিমানবন্দর কর বরাদ্দ দেয়া হয়। ত্রিদেশীয় এ ট্যুরে মন্ত্রীর তরফে প্রায় ১৬ লাখ টাকা বিল করা হয়েছে জানিয়ে ওই কর্মকর্তা বলেন, এমন বিল প্রতি মাসে দু’তিনটি হয়। কাছাকাছি দেশে ভ্রমণের বিল তুলানামূলক কম হয় জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন, মন্ত্রীর একেকটি প্যাকেজ ট্যুরে (সফরসঙ্গীস&#2489 ৫০ লাখ টাকা পর্যন্ত বিল হয়। এসব বিল মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তাদের কাছে পুরোপুরি রহস্য। পছন্দের এক ট্রাভেল এজেন্সি থেকে সব সময় মন্ত্রী ও তার সফর সংশ্লিষ্টদের টিকিট কেনা হয়। বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে লাক্সারি বিমান এমিরেটস তার প্রথম পছন্দ। দীর্ঘ দিন এমিরেটসের রিজারভেশনে কাজ করেছেন এমন কর্মকর্তা মানবজমিনকে বলেন, সরকারি বিধি মতে মন্ত্রী বা পদমর্যাদার ব্যক্তিদের যেভাবে টিকিট করা হয় সেখানে একবার লন্ডন যেতে (ঢাকা থেকে বিজনেস ক্লাস, দুবাই থেকে হিথ্রো ফার্স্ট ক্লা&#2488 ন্যূনতম ৫ লাখ টাকা ভাড়া গুনতে হয়। রুট ভেদে ফার্স্ট ক্লাস প্রিমিয়াম স্যুটের ভাড়া ৮-১০ লাখ টাকা পর্যন্ত হয় বলেও জানান এমিরেটস এর ওই কর্মকর্তা। এদিকে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে হোটেল স্যুইটের ভাড়া মওসুম ভেদে কমবেশি হলেও তার কোন ছাপ পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী বা তার সফরসঙ্গীদের ভ্রমণ বিলে পাওয়া যায় না বলে দাবি করেন পররাষ্ট্র দপ্তরের কর্মকর্তা। তথ্য অধিকার আইনে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী প্রথম ৩ বছরের ভ্রমণের যে হিসাব প্রকাশ করেছেন সে প্রসঙ্গে মন্ত্রণালয়ের বাজেট বিভাগে দীর্ঘ দিন কাজ করেছেন এমন এক কর্মকর্তা মানবজমিনকে বলেন, তা একান্ত তার নিজস্ব খরচ। তার বহরে থাকা দপ্তর ও সংশ্লিষ্ট অনুবিভাগের কর্মকর্তা, নির্বাচনী এলাকার লোক ও গণমাধ্যম প্রতিনিধিদের বিল সমপূর্ণ আলাদা। সব বিল এক সঙ্গে করলে তা ৪০ কোটিতে গিয়ে ঠেকবে। ক্ষমতা ছাড়া পর্যন্ত এই অবস্থা অব্যাহত থাকলে তা ৫০ কোটি ছাড়িয়ে যাবে বলে ধারণা দেন তিনি।


শেষ সময়ে সফর-ব্যয় বেড়েছে: দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের ২২ দিন পর থেকে বিদেশ সফর শুরু করেন দীপু মনি। প্রথম যান জেনেভায়। ২০০৯ সালে ৩৪ বার সফরে বের হন তিনি। পরের দুই বছরে এ সংখ্যা আরও বাড়ে। তৃতীয় বছরে তা ৪৪-এ গিয়ে দাঁড়ায়। চতুর্থ বছরে ৪৬। আর চলতি বছরে এ পর্যন্ত ২৯টি সফর সেরে ফেলেছেন। এখনও প্রায় তিন মাস সময় তার হাতে আছে। আগামী ২৫শে জুলাই প্রাইভেট ভিজিটে ৩ দিনের জন্য দিল্লি যাচ্ছেন তিনি। এটি তার ১৮৮তম সফর। সফরটির বিষয়ে মন্ত্রীর পিআরও মনিরুল ইসলাম কবিরের কাছে জানতে চাইলে তিনি কোন তথ্য দিতে অপারগতা প্রকাশ করেন। ঘোষিত সিডিউল মতে, দিল্লি থেকে ফেরার পর তার সৌদি আরব, চীন, ইউক্রেন, মিয়ানমার (ভিভিআইপ&#2495, কোস্টারিকা, জাতিসংঘের ৬৮তম অধিবেশন উপলক্ষে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, দক্ষিণ কোরিয়া ও ভারত সফরের কথা রয়েছে। মন্ত্রণালয়ের বাজেট বিভাগে কর্মকর্তাদের মতে, শেষ সময়ে সফর সংখ্যা যেমন বেড়েছে তেমনি ব্যয়ও বাড়ছে।


দ্বিপক্ষীয় সফর হাতেগোনা: বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে মাত্র ১৭টি দ্বিপক্ষীয় সফরে গেছেন দীপু মনি। সর্বশেষ জুনের তৃতীয় সপ্তাহে দ্বিপক্ষীয় সফর করেছেন কুয়েত ও সৌদি আরবে। অবশ্য পশ্চিম ও মধ্যপ্রাচ্য অনুবিভাগের কর্মকর্তাদের দাবি, আজারবাইজানে একটি সম্মেলনে অংশ নেয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে মন্ত্রীর সফরটি হলেও সেখানে দ্বিপক্ষীয় উপাদান ছিল। এর আগে গত ৪ঠা মে রিয়াদ সফরটিও দ্বিপক্ষীয় ছিল বলে দাবি তাদের। পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অন্য এক কর্মকর্তা জানান, প্রতি বছর অনেক অনুষ্ঠানের আমন্ত্রণ আসে। যেগুলোতে মন্ত্রীপর্যায়ের অংশগ্রহণ তেমন জরুরি নয়। কিন্তু মন্ত্রী কারও পরামর্শ না নিয়েই তাতে যোগ দেন। এতে অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তাদের বিব্রতকর পরিস্থিতিতে পড়তে হয়। সংশ্লিষ্ট এক কর্মকর্তা বলেন, কোথায় মন্ত্রীর যাওয়া উচিত আর কোথায় অনুচিত তা পররাষ্ট্র সচিব ও সংশ্লিষ্ট মহাপরিচালকদের ঠিক করার রেওয়াজ। কিন্তু দীপু মনি তা একেবারেই মানেন না। তিনি নিজের সিদ্ধান্ত বরাবরই নিজে নেন। বিগত দিনে যে অনুষ্ঠানে যেতে চেয়েছেন তা চূড়ান্ত করে অধস্তনদের জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন। আর যেখানে যেতে চাননি তার জন্য পরামর্শ করে অন্য কাউকে পাঠিয়েছেন কিংবা বাদ দিয়েছেন।


ফাইলও বিদেশ ঘুরে, সিদ্ধান্ত পেতে রজনী পার: বিদেশ সফরে ব্যস্ত পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর ফাইল দেখার সময় নেই। বিমানবন্দর থেকে অফিস কিংবা বাসায় আসা-যাওয়ার সময়টুকু বরাবরই কাজে লাগান কর্মকর্তারা। রেওয়াজ মতে, পররাষ্ট্র সচিব ও দেশে থাকা মন্ত্রীর দপ্তরের কর্মকর্তাদের তার আগমন ও প্রস্থানকালে বিমানবন্দরে উপস্থিত থাকতে হয়। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ে পাঠানোর জন্য প্রস্তুতকৃত সারসংক্ষেপ কিংবা নিয়োগ-বদলি, পদায়নসহ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ফাইলগুলো আগে থেকে পররাষ্ট্র সচিবের স্বাক্ষর নিয়ে প্রস্তুত রাখা হয়। যাতায়াত পথে, বাসায় কিংবা বিমানবন্দরে তাতে সই নেয়া নয়। ঘনিষ্ঠরা জানান, কোন কারণে দেশে ফাইল দেখা সম্ভব না হলে মন্ত্রী তা সঙ্গে নিয়ে যান। সে ক্ষেত্রে তার ফেরত আসা পর্যন্ত ফাইল বিমানে বিমানে ঘোরে। এদিকে মন্ত্রীর ঘনিষ্ঠ মহাপরিচালকরা তাকে বিভিন্ন কাজে সরাসরি মেইল করে সিদ্ধান্ত চান। এ ক্ষেত্রেও ভোগান্তি পেতে হয়। জরুরি প্রয়োজনে মন্ত্রী মেইলেই সিদ্ধান্ত দেন। এজন্য মন্ত্রীর বিমান থেকে নেমে হোটেলে পৌঁছা এবং ফ্রেশ হয়ে মেইল চেক করা পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষায় থাকতে হয়। সময়ের ব্যবধান থাকায় বেশির ভাগ সময় মধ্যরাতে জবাব মেলে। তবে অনেক ক্ষেত্রে সিদ্ধান্ত শেষ রাত কিংবা রজনী পার হয়ে যায় বলেও জানান এক কর্মকর্তা।


অর্জনের ঝুলি শূন্য: সরকারের সাড়ে চার বছরে ২০ বার লন্ডন সফর করেছেন দীপু মনি। বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে ‘সুনির্দিষ্ট’ কোন কর্মসূচি ছিল না সেখানে। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী হয়ে গেছেন দু’বার। বাকি সময় প্রইিভেট ভিজিট। তবে সবচেয়ে বেশি সময় গেছেন তার সন্তানকে সঙ্গ দিতে। অবশ্য তার দপ্তরের সাবেক এক কর্মকর্তার (বর্তমানে বিদেশ মিশনে পোস্টিংয়&#2503 দাবি, যুদ্ধাপরাধের বিচার ঠেকাতে মরিয়া জামায়াত-শিবিরের যুক্তরাজ্য ভিত্তিক প্রচারণা ঠেকাতে তিনি বার বার লন্ডন সফর করেছেন। মন্ত্রীর দপ্তর থেকে পাওয়া নথিপত্র ঘেঁটে দেখা গেছে, হাতেগোনা ক’টা দ্বিপক্ষীয় সফর করেছেন তিনি। প্রেসিডেন্ট-প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী হিসেবে গেছেন ৪৪টি ভিভিআইপি সফরে। এর মধ্যে চলতি বছরে প্রধামন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে রাশিয়া, থাইল্যান্ড, লন্ডন ও সর্বশেষ পূর্ব ইউরোপের দেশ বেলারুশ। সদ্যপ্রয়াত প্রেসিডেন্ট গত আগস্ট থেকে মার্চ পর্যন্ত তিন দফা চিকিৎসার জন্য সিঙ্গাপুর ও লন্ডনে গেছেন। বেশ ক’দিন বিদেশের মাটিতে জীবনমৃত্যুর সন্ধিক্ষণ থেকে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করলেও কোথাও পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীকে দেখা যায়নি। এই দিনগুলোতেও তার সফর থেমে ছিল না। দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর থেকে ১৬বার যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সফরে গেছেন দীপু মনি। ওবামা প্রশাসনের সাবেক ও বর্তমান দুই পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গেও সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন। সিনেটর, কংগ্রেসম্যানদের সঙ্গে বৈঠকেও গেছেন তিনি। কিন্তু যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক এক চুলও এগোয়নি বরং নোবেল বিজয়ী ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস ও তার প্রতিষ্ঠিত গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক সরকারের রোষানলে থাকায় বরাবরই ক্ষুব্ধ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র। হিলারি ঢাকায় এসেও উদ্বেগ জানিয়ে গেছেন। বাংলাদেশের শ্রমমান ও শ্রমিক নেতা আমিনুল ইসলামের নৃশংস হত্যাকাণ্ড নিয়েও যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের উদ্বেগ ছিল এবং আছে। বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে বার বার সতর্কতা ও নোটিশ করার পর সমপ্রতি দেশটির বাজারে বাংলাদেশী পণ্য প্রবেশের জিএসপি সুবিধা স্থগিত করার ঘোষণা দিয়েছে ওবামা প্রশাসন। এবার ইউরোপের বাজার নিয়ে শঙ্কা তৈরি হয়েছে। যদিও দীপু মনির সমপ্রতি জেনেভা সফরে ইইউ’র তরফে শর্ত জুড়ে দিয়ে শ্রমমান উন্নয়নে বাংলাদেশের পাশে থাকার ঘোষণা এসেছে। কেবল এই ইস্যু নয়, এর আগেও ১১ বার সুইজারল্যান্ড, ৪ বার জার্মানিসহ ইউরোপের বিভিন্ন দেশে সিরিজ সফর করেছেন দীপু মনি। দুই দেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রীর হাই প্রোফাইল সফর বিনিময় ছাড়াও কমপেক্ষে ৯ বার এককভাবে ভারত সফরে গেছেন দীপু মনি। বাংলাদেশের বড় উদ্বেগ সীমান্ত হত্যা আজও বন্ধ হয়নি। দেশটির সঙ্গে সম্পাদিত সীমান্ত চুক্তি ও প্রটোকলের বাস্তবায়ন তো দূরে থাক লোকসভার অনুমোদনও আজ পর্যন্ত মিলেনি। তিস্তার পানি বণ্টন চুক্তিতে ভারতের তরফে কোন সাড়া না পেলেও বরাবরই দীপু মানি দ্রুততম সময়ের মধ্যে তা সম্পাদনের বিষয়ে আশাবাদী। সব প্রক্রিয়া ভেস্তে যাওয়ার পর আগামী সপ্তাহে ‘ইনফরমাল ডিপ্লোমেসি’ করতে তিনি নয়া দিল্লি যাচ্ছেন। শোনা গেছে, প্রাইভেট ভিজিট হলেও তিনি দেশটির প্রেসিডেন্ট ও প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সাক্ষাৎ চেয়েছেন। বিশ্বের খুব কম দেশই বাদ গেছে দীপু মনির সফর তালিকা থেকে। ইন্দোনেশিয়া, তুরস্ক মিয়ানমার, কাতার, সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাত, মালদ্বীপ, থাইল্যান্ড, মিশর, চীন, সিঙ্গাপুর, ফ্রান্স, নাইজেরিয়া, মালয়েশিয়া, কম্বোডিয়া, শ্রীলঙ্কা, পর্তুগাল, ভুটান, ইতালি, জাপান, ইরান, কাজাখস্তান, নেদারল্যান্ডস, ভিয়েতনাম, নরওয়ে, কোবা, সাউথ আফ্রিকা, সিরিয়া, ত্রিনিদাদ অ্যান্ড টোবাগো ডেনমার্ক, মরিশাস, ফিলিপাইন, নেপাল, তাজিকিস্তান, জিবুতি, ব্রাজিল, উগান্ডা, বেলজিয়াম, স্পেন, কানাডা, লিথুয়ানিয়া, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, ওমান, তুর্কমেনিস্তান, ব্রুনাই দারুস সালাম, লাটভিয়া- কোথায় যাননি তিনি। ন্যূনতম একবার ঊর্ধ্বে ৪-৫ বার পর্যন্ত গেছেন একেকটি দেশে। মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের দেশগুলো তিনি রীতিমতো চষে বেড়িয়েছেন। মিশন কর্মকর্তারা তার খেদমতে অর্থকড়ি ও সময় ব্যয় করেছেন। দ্বিপক্ষীয় বাণিজ্য, জনশক্তি রপ্তানি কিংবা কাঠামোগত সংস্কার বা অর্জন- কাজের কাজ কিছুই হয়নি। জনশক্তি রপ্তানির নতুন বাজার সৃষ্টি তো নয়ই, পুরনো বাজারও হাতছাড়া হয়ে গেছে। দীর্ঘদিন বন্ধ থাকার পর সৌদি আরবে আকামা পরিবর্তনের সুযোগ দিয়েছে দেশটির সরকার। তবে ভিসার জন্য কবে উন্মুক্ত হবে তা কেউই জানে না। এত সফরের পরও অর্জনের ঝুলি শূন্য থাকার অভিযোগ মানতে নারাজ পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গীরা। তাদের মতে, দীপু মনি পথ দেখিয়েছেন। তার দেখানো পথ ধরেই সফলতা আসবে। সেই পর্যন্ত দেশবাসীকে অপেক্ষায় থাকার পরামর্শও দিয়েছেন তারা।


সংসদ না ভাঙলে ডাবল সেঞ্চুরি পূর্ণ হবে: চলতি বছরেই দীপু মনির বিদেশ সফরের ডাবল সেঞ্চুরি পূর্ণ হবে। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর ঘোষণা মতে, আগামী ২৪শে অক্টোবর সংসদ ভেঙে দেয়া হবে। ওই দিন মন্ত্রীরাও পদত্যাগ করবেন। যদি তা না হয় তাহলে পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রীর বিদেশ সফরের ডাবল সেঞ্চুরি পূর্ণ হবে ১১ই নভেম্বর। খসড়া সিডিউল মতে, ২০০তম সফরে ওই দিন এশিয়া-ইউরোপ মিটিং (আসে&#2478-এর পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী পর্যায়ের বৈঠকে অংশ নিতে তিনি দিল্লি যাবেন। অবশ্য তার আগে আরও এক ডজন সফর করবেন দীপু মনি।
এ বিষয়ে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের জন্য যোগাযোগ করা হলে তিনি কোন উত্তর দিতে রাজি হননি।
