What's new

World focus has shifted to India from China: Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven

That's what they are taught in school, society and media that they are ex-vedic and future supa pawa

:o:Yeah Well! I wish they were taught about contraceptives instead. It boggles the mind to see how many they are - If they were a middle income or developed country capable of sustaining their population then it would have been fine but seeing millions of them living in the sub human conditions is really terrible.

They ought to have a law like China banning more than one or two child per couple or shi*t is gonna hit the fan.

I was so repulsed when I visited India - had nightmares afterwards. I guess some of this has to do with the climate too - since it is so hot and humid - every thing spoils early and contributes to the smell.

On the other hand the hilly places were relatively better but still I prefer Colorado.

Well, Americans think India is all like of Bollywood. :-) Isn't it? You'll find more cleaner cities in Pakistan than in India.

True! I have visited both and average Pakistani city and town is cleaner. However some Indian cities like Mumbai and Goa are much more fun than anything in Pakistan.

Good roads, next generation infrastructure and clientele that can afford Teslas in large numbers.

We need to get our roads right first.

Rather than Tesla, I would bet my money on BYD (002594.sh) in the long run, or other conventional manufacturers making inroads into new energy vehicles. Wish @cnleio have a nice career in this fast growing BYD!
Im programing codes for the sensor driver in BYD car ... with support from Germany Bosch Corp, BYD is a major account for Bosch (China).

How well India uses this opportunity will say a lot about our resolve to become the next economic engine of the world.

That will probably never happen. The current environment isn't going towards "India will pick what China will shed". China won't shed much, it has masses of unemployed and unskilled to worry about.

I was not referring to India vs China thing here. It is a fact that China is slowing with lots of problems in its capital markets. Investors wary to invest in such uncertain environment. With India having a relatively stable economy, Investors can come to India. India should take this an an opportunity to attract new outside investments.

Stable economy is one plus. there are lots of minuses, from India being in the /temperatetropic belt where productivity is lower, to education, to infra, to people not being able to be herded like China does etc etc....

Yes, productivity is lower, infra is bad, illiteracy is low as compared to China, but, investments in certain areas are yielding extraordinary results. There has been extraordinary improvements in the areas you quoted above in last 10 years.
