DRASS (J&K): Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Saturday said the armed forces will not let another Kargil-like conflict to take place.

After paying tributes to the Kargil war martyrs at a memorial here, he said the "Army won't allow another Kargil".

Though the celebrations to mark the 16th anniversary of India's victory in the Kargil War, also called Vijay Diwas, began on July 20, the main functions will be held today and tomorrow.

Army will hold a memorial service at the Kargil War Memorial where prayers by religious leaders will be held. They will be followed by lighting of lamps.

The wreath laying ceremony for the martyrs will be held tomorrow which will be followed by an interaction with Veer Naris. The Kargil war, which began in May 1999, lasted for more than two months before Pakistani soldiers, a bulk of them drawn from its Northern Light Infantry, and irregulars withdrew from the mountain tops they had occupied overlooking the Srinagar-Leh highway.

In the conflict, the Indian Army lost 490 officers, soldiers and jawans.

yes. they vacated the posts in winter... and ignored it as small infiltration of some militants.. when they got to know :)

so are you by any mean trying to hint that it was a quisling act on the part of Indian defence forces .... ???

.... :azn:

wow another conspiracy theory

what conspiracy theory ... ??

that was a simple question sir jee ... :smokin:

your nation biggest asset became your biggest liabilty
Sir don't you worry for us we are implementing 'Asset-Liability Management' in this matter 'successfully' ....

and your biggest friend came openlli in owr camp .... rest is history :chilli:

ya some of our previous investors have invested with you in a 'hope' to get 'greater Interest' ...

BTW they have not 'disinvest' from our market completely .... ;)

Oh .. no Its defiantly not going to happen,, you know why becasue IA is not going to leave the bunkers to be emptied during winters..:haha:

and what was your question ?

no we dint entrap you rather it was your recklessness and deep seeded hate & revnge obsession towards india that made your security establishment shoot itself in the foot :haha:

now about asset liability

sir you should know no ammount of cutting hydra heads will kill it they keep growing back until you dismantle the root

did your nation did that ..... i guess not ... for example look at recent jamia hafza rant about ISIS

what did you did about the notion of good or bad terrorists ... example = lakhvi case

now lets talk about "the investors" and so called "disinvestment"

well did british divested their "invetments" till now .... example AH whoes still protected by MI6

now talk about india and USA

well we are "baniyas" remmber :azn:

and we know how to do buisness for owr "profits"and it is in owr blood without giving too much to the "investor"

we know how fast things can go wrong with US so we havent till yet kept all owr "eggs" in the same basket without worrying much to the "irrtation amongst american investors" and they know it

now lets come back to kargil well it was a self inflicted wound by your own army on your nation and the funny thing is your nation still doesnt wants to "punish the culprits" but we are not complaining .... ever wondered why :coffee:
