To tell you frankly, I am not aware of what exactly she is planning to do with respect to removing Islam from the constitution.
Can you shed light on that and what exactly is the objection to that?
Also, those poll manifesto items would obviously not be the only agenda for the government.
The 1972 constitution had no mention of Islam but relied on democracy, social justice, nationalism and socialism. Islam was introduced into the constitution by President Ziaur Rahman who also included the words Bismillah-Ar-Rahman-Ar-Rahim. President Erasha similarly added a few more Islamic elements to the constitution. All of these changes received widespread support.
To change the constitution is not a small matter and is probably the most important thing to include in a manifesto. If the AL wanted to do this they should have spelled it out at the start. By playing this trick they will suffer a backlash.
