Our dollar khor NGO portray as if our women are suppressed. All I see here a man rather brutally suppressed here. Replace a man with women here and see all these cockroaches come out of their holes. Okay, let's be fair ...

-First off, I've seen the "disproportionate response brigade" ... which is at every such domestic violence case talking about how men should never hit women because they are stronger. It took two bullet shots to the legs of the dude for them to finally bring some consistency to their arguments, so I guess
Men responding with physical abuse after being abused = women responding with bullets after being abused.

-Secondly, for all the people glorifying her actions as empowering etc. let's take a second to imagine if a guy had done the exact same thing after being slapped. What would have been the response?

-Thirdly, had the woman did that in self defense, where your under immediate threat and you perceive your going to get harmed. I would've 100% condoned the action as self defense. However, based on the information given, she asked him for an apology and LATER out of anger shot him. That is not self defense ... that is revenge. What she could've done was to leave her home and register a case against her husband for domestic violence. Instead she took the matters in to her own hands, which is the reason why she is in custody right now.

-Lastly, this story brings a very real REALITY to surface, the whole dichotomy where men are the abusers and women are the helpless abused victims is no more. Objects like guns, knives etc. balances out the playing field.

In parts of Punjab, its other way around

Just in my area I know 3-4 women who got divorced or living seperately from husband and making him pay monthly cost of living for herself and if any child they had. The reasons were funny that the women wouldn't do anything at home like just eating and doing nothing else or will quarrel with the family and thanks to women protection bill, all women are innocent and all men are cruel.

I know a women (indirectly) who made her lover fire at her husband so that she could marry her lover. Thats so common these days... the women in parts of Punjab are gundi badmash and poor men are so innocent

Are you implying that we, as a nation, majority of it are women oppressors? I am not talking about isolated and random incidents here. Matter of the fact is, that we as nation, with our collective wisdom have send a woman, through the power of vote, reflecting our overall attitude towards women and her empowerment, TWICE, in Islamabad as the leader of Pakistan, a feat which some western countries, champions of women rights, have not been able to achieve.

Talk is cheap, what I said above is the reality of Pakistani society.

Yeah I heard punjab men donot beat their wives but in other parts of country men would even cross limits of an animal . There was a news few days before a man in pakistan cut he eyebrows of his wife , cut her nose , lips , ears hair and kept her in inside home like a jail .

And another man fought with his wife , he plucked her both eyes , tortured her and killed her .
Pakistani men are very weird , thank God my husband won't be a pakistani.

Majority of pakistani men beat their wives a lot .

Heard about novel 'my feudal lord by tehmina durrani ' where she exposed all educated leaders talking about women's rights but beating theur wives like hell . Her own husband used to beat her a lot . Pakistani men are like this .

About my another cousin who also beat his first wife so much that she can't even spoke properly .
