Woman held for attempting to bring in 60kg pork

I don't know, but my even own family likes to bring large amounts of food when traveling on an airplane.

Even though it is extremely expensive when your luggage is overweight (you have to pay a large penalty), they still stuff it with every food item under the sun.

I tell them that it is cheaper to just send it by international delivery, but they don't listen.

Though I've never seen anyone carrying raw or prohibited food through an airport. That would be dumb, because it would get confiscated for sure. And it is illegal, so you would lose face. Maybe this woman is just obsessed with pork.
Its not illegal to eat it.. although not sold at ur friendly butchers shop down the road.

My cousin works with a Chinese eng company.,, China state.. and he tells me that locals actually hunt and sell it to Chinese engs.

Except Brahmans, majority of other castes eat meat. Now a days almost everyone eat meat.

Kokanastha brahmins and Saraswat Brahmins eat meat as do most of their South Indian counterparts.
It's only the North Indians that make a fuss about it. Especially the Ganga kinare walas!

This goes perfectly well with the lady... :D

Even brahmans do eat meat, infact they eat meat as kali prashad.

What Tatti bro!
Don't paint all Brahmins with a brush!

Don't care much for pork as such but bacon, prosciutto, that Chinese pork buns are exceptions.
This place in New York called WD 40 used to serve bacon ice-cream! That shit could turn even a non-believer!

I meant it's illegal to carry large amounts of raw meat on an airplane, it's just a general safety risk regardless of country.

Anyway, as a Chinese person I could easily avoid eating pork for months/years if I needed to. After all, meat is meat, I am very happy with chicken/beef/duck/lamb or anything else. Lahori Chicken in particular is one of my favorite dishes in Hong Kong.

If push came to shove I could even stop eating meat in general, and become a temporary vegetarian. I wouldn't enjoy it, but I could definitely do it if I needed to. Just need some vitamin pills on the side.

A good stir fry veggie can make one forget meat - never believed it, till I had it.

cant live 2 days without meat..

I developed some weird allergy thanks to eating too much of it... like my small circles (inflammation) would appear on my palm.. so doc advised me to stop eating it for a while.. hardest days of my life.

She should be arrested or deported..

People bringing contraband through Airports is a normal occurrence around the world. There is no need for such an adverse reaction, she was probably misinformed that she will not be able to get Pork in Pakistan. Seize the meat and let her be on her way, no harm done.

. . .
Pork is far better than eating a Khota which has now become a lahore delicacy!

Chinese cannot do without pork. Even the oil they use n cooking is pork oil. Is it unlawful to eat pork in Pakistan?
No... i have Christian friends who eat it in Pakistan

.
Many Muslims also hunt Wildboars and consumes Pork meat too (at least here in India). The religious taboos enforced by Hinduism on Cow meat and Islam on Pork should be slowly moved.

.
I hate these Indian trolls questioning Pak-China friendship on this one incident. (at least on the news websites)
.
ANY country in the world will ban foreign meat from being imported by passengers at airports due to disease concerns.

I know because these Asians are ALWAYS caught trying to bring in raw meat and vegetables into Canada and are always caught at the airport.

If they eat pork, its their thing, we as Pakistanis don't care. Chinese Expats in Pakistan aren't barging into our houses and forcing pork into our mouths
