Woman held for attempting to bring in 60kg pork

.
If its against the LAW than she must be held accountable if none of the law in broken than i guess its ok..

.
No but import or bringing without permission is not allowed, many non-Muslim villagers eat wild boars in Punjab when local farmers hunt them since they are consider pest here and destroy lot of crops.

Wild boars are not taken as pigs. Pigs are looked down upon and hence are 'reprehensible', hence in India you will not find pork openly. While wild boars are taken as exotic meat, but hunting wild boars is banned in India hence it is illegal to keep or eat it.

Thats alot of pork to be carrying. She must of been under the impression pork was banned/hard to find in PK...

.
60 kg of pork? she was gonna make a huge pepperoni pizza I guess. whats the problem in bringing in pork to Pakistan? is it against the law or something?

.
Wild bore and domesticated pig are two different animals, its like eating farm chicken Vs desi

Well, if that woman was connected with CDA officials, she could have been having a desi pig ... these are not difficult to find in Islamabad especially around F-9 park. A friend hunts them there, and a call to CDA and they take it away with some speed!

. .
why is the pork banned in pakistan? why don't pakistanis eat pork? the pig is said to be seen as symbol of the great pakistani ancestor ? or pig is the dirty and disgraceful animal in islamic culture? who tells the right answer? thanks

Pork is not banned by the government.. but it is not allowed in Islam. It is viewed as a dirty animal in islam.

Why do East Asians have a problem with not following any laws regarding food? Just go to any airport in UK, Australia or Canada, all you see is a big line of East Asians getting caught trying to bring either raw food or prohibited food items.

Boars were only thought to be unclean and filthy because they carried diseases all those thousands of years ago.

They still do, but now we're aware of them and can protect ourselves against them.

I don't know, but my even own family likes to bring large amounts of food when traveling on an airplane.

Even though it is extremely expensive when your luggage is overweight (you have to pay a large penalty), they still stuff it with every food item under the sun.

I tell them that it is cheaper to just send it by international delivery, but they don't listen.

Though I've never seen anyone carrying raw or prohibited food through an airport. That would be dumb, because it would get confiscated for sure. And it is illegal, so you would lose face. Maybe this woman is just obsessed with pork.
