Man sets wife ablaze for giving birth to daughter

SARGODHA: A man killed his wife by setting her on fire for giving birth to a female child, Geo News reported Tuesday.
A case has been registered against the accused, who has been arrested.
According to police sources, Saima Parveen, 24, a resident of Zahoor Hayat Colony, was married to the accused Irfan 13 months ago.
According to police, Saima gave birth a baby girl three months ago, which Irfan resented. He set his wife on fire yesterday after dousing her with kerosene oil.
She was being rushed to CMH Hospital Sargodha when she succumbed to her over 90 percent burn injuries.
The husband of the burnt woman said it was not him who burned his wife down; instead, she died of the fire caused by gas leakage in the kitchen.
The SHO Bhalwal police station said the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.
Saima’s daughter is under her grand mother’s care.
