With eye on Beijing, US signals ‘full embrace’ of Delhi

After seeing the way America let its long-time allies Philippines and Japan fend for themselves against China without lifting a finger, the whole world knows that America talks big about containing China until PLA makes a move and then America's all like "we're neutral folks."

An alliance with the USA is the only way India can balance against a two-front war against China + Pakistan combined. So it makes sense.

The problem is that America is no longer interested in direct support to their allies. As we saw when Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, or when North Korea repeatedly attacked South Korea in 2010. Or more recently when they ditched their friends in the SE Asia maritime disputes.

It serves their interest to see these nations fighting without having to send any help themselves.

This embrace will kill India, ruin it, as billion of us dollars are directed to keep the US militaro industry afloat and India becaming just a muppet which has to always obey to the US policy otherwise India will not get access to its weaponry. As the US war criminals embrace India to better kill it and contain China, China kissess passionately and voluptuously Pakistan in view of making both countries to form one to better face the white racists.

.
We should keep in mind that we share borders with China, not US. They are our neighbors and we can have cooperation at many levels too. So better if we make our own place and keep relations better with both US and China. US has ditched Philippines and Vietnam in middle during recent spats of these countries with China.

It would bad decision if we move into US camp. We should rather follow our independent Foreign Policy like we have been following in last few decades.

true we should not move exclusively in US camp . but as for china , they have already pushed us in a corner so we have no choice but to pursue anti-china stance ; and take help from where it comes !

China's rapid rise is forcing a massive scramble around the Asia pacific region. Countries like Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, India, and others are becoming much closer to the US militarily because none of them can challenge any potential Chinese aggression alone.

The Chinese are playing Chicken with several countries. They outsmarted the Philippines and essentially annexed the Scarborough Shoal, they are trying to encroach on the Spratlys, etc. Yet they do so without firing a single shot.

India does not want to be unprepared for the day China takes it focus off the oceans and looks at its Indian border. This is why India is raising new divisions, buy choppers, artillery, transports, etc.
IMHO India is taking too long to prepare and may end up being humiliated like the Philippines if it doesn't speed up its conventional modernization.

The U.S. manufacturing sector needs India's market potential, especially India's defense procurements.

Embracing US by India will surely compel Russia to explore new markets and allies to her goodies as well as to offset any strategic imbalance.

If you are pointing to Pakistan as replacement then that's not possible because then China's market in Pakistan will be ruined and India's defence budget is multiple times higher compared to Pakistan.

it is just for one decade or so , we might need US for indirect support in terms of any china+pak eventuality , but i guess later with rise of RUSSIA , we might reimplement the security agreement as in case of USSR . that will remove china out of any hostile equation then .

The USA can offer a lot to India in economic terms.

Currently, the major Credit Ratings agencies (which are all based in the USA) are in the process of downgrading India.

If India were to give up their "independent stance" and move to the US camp, they could get their credit ratings increased and divert a huge amount of American investment from China into India instead. It could greatly speed up Indian development.

That's possible, but Russia is our ally too, rendering them neutral in any China-India disputes (as we have already seen). So America is a better bet for India.

LOL, they also screwed India on the carrier and snubbed them in Naval exercises. Putin visited China on his first foreign trip after he was re-elected, not India.

Why do you think Russia co-founded the SCO with China instead of India?

In 1962, India asked both Russia and the USA for help. You try to play both sides and you get neither side.

We do not share a border with Russia why would they found it with India?

On 16 July 2001, Russia and the PRC, the organisation's two leading nations, signed the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation.

Its better to be in BRIC compared to SCO

Why is Russia blackmailing India over the carrier deal?

Russia knows how close India is to America.
