However there are fact that casinos have been opened at the Vietnam-Cambodia border, in Cambodia. And most of its customers are Vietnamese. We should continue for hundreds of millions of US$ flowing out of the country every year? And thousands of jobs for Vietnamese from investment of US$ 6 billion?

US gives a very hard offer to VN, they won't invest anything if VNese are not allow to gamble. But if we allow, then lots of VNese will go broke, corrupted officers will increase bcz our financial system is not transparent.

any way, we need US's help in developing country now, so may be one Casino in HCM city is possible, many people in HCM city gamble in Cambodia every day now.

I think that Vietnam should allow the casino but should not allow normal people to enter and gamble. There should be special passes from the government otherwise the poor and the middle class will just lose their money and it will be only worse.

But I think that the tourism will increase becasue the the cambodians and the lao will come to Vietnam instead of going to the expensive Macau. Even the Taiwanese and some Chinese would like to come to Vietnam for gambling then. So it can generate good foreign exchange and tourism as long as the government is careful that the policy of allowing locals to gamble should be strict and after checking their financial wealth.

I can see your point. It is a double edged saw. In America every state is going for some kind of casino gambling too.

Perhaps I'm being stubborn. I still believe it's not a good idea long term.

Sadly, Cambodia now has many casinos along the Viet-Cam border. Its customers are mostly Vietnamese, of which not less officials...
