Will regard Pakistan as brother when in power, seek ties on mutual respect: Afghan Taliba

If I am a coconut your a vodka doused coconut. Go to Moscow and cry freedom. See what happens. Frankly I suspect you live in some insular ghetto who has zero experiance of the world out there.

On a side note. Met alot of Sheikh Imran Hussain 'types' in U.K, taught to love Russia and hate Turkey (anything ottoman). Unfortunately common nowadays.

I hope Pakistan never gets stuck in any verification clause - that's going to be a F up. I don't see any indication of this being suggested, as Pakistan's role so far is mainly of facilitator and putting the right pressure on Taliban to come to a reasonable. If that's what is happening, which I don't agree, I hope at least its for the right price unlike the fumble done by Musshy post 9/11.

Pakistan is desperate to show that it can still control the Taliban since the rescue of its economy depends on it, and other plays will try to muck that up as much as possible.

It's not Pak is Trump administration which is desperate.

Clearly shows that they are seeking power in Afghanistan..

What an eye opener, calling Pakistan a brother what message are they giving out

If thinking that makes you happy, I will not disagree. It does nothing to change reality as I have mentioned, however.

Can you produce a source, even an unnamed one, which states that Pakistan is advocating that it can control Taliban?

Pakistan is acting as the guarantor of Taliban promises not to let their area being used again for attacking USA, and thereby hoping to limit Indian incursion into what they regard as their backyard. Why do you think India is fanning PTM so actively these days?

The sooner this is tied up, the sooner Pakistan's economy will be rescued.

(My sources are reliable, that is all I will say.)

I hope we get the right resources and tools to ensure such a guarantee. And I see US, or maybe the western block, as the only area for which protection is being sought for with inforceable gaurantees?

I can assure you that Pakistan is playing its hand very well thus far, and it is likely to do so too. Well played. And yes, it is just the USA/West that will be off limits.

Why the hell would they act as f***ng guarantor of anything? The americans are beating a retreat. Pakistan's strategy of waiting it out has worked. The americans will be gone, sooner and not later. Whether they manage an agreement with the talibs or not. They are going to get out. The peace agreement is just a way for Trump to save face, he and his establishment knows the US has to at least make it seem as if it 'succeeded' in Afghanistan. A peace agreement with taliban and making the taliban say they wont allow afghan territory to be used against USA is exactly that.

Why does Pakistan have to guarantee anything. Play hard ball, trump has no cards left

Please remember that Pakistan's economy is over the proverbial barrel - spreadeagled. USA has many, many cards to play, and many, many more after those.

Not when it comes to Afghanistan they dont. Trump has an electorate to perform for. If Pakistan stalls, and the negotiations prolong then the americans will have to make concessions.

Pakistan making guarantees is like a person volunteering to have a noose put around its neck for another person.

The economy... needs dollars to pay for imports. Thats all.

China has 3 trillion dollars of reserves. It wont let Pakistan's economy go under. Too much at stake for China.

Never underestimate Uncle Sam. Ever. ;)

Please keep in mind China told Pakistan to go to IMF rather than bail it out already.
