Leadership matters a little when institutions are solid. The question should be how will the American institutions behave under Trump's leadership.
Do the Pakistan's national values match with Americas?
Do the Pakistan's strategic interests match with America's?
Do the people of Pakistan and America like and respect each other?
Obama or Hillary or Trump, the bilateral relations between America and Pakistan will depend on the above points.

Trump made it clear in his election campaign how he wants to take the Indo US relationship further. Pakistan needs to get out of this mindset that the US had a soft spot for us, it clearly does not.
