The problem is Bombay, Madras etc attracted poorest of India who migrated in millions especially from Bengal, Bangladsh, UP-Bihar, Madhya Pradesh etc creating Ghettoes. Recently, this is happening to even south cities like Bangalore too. In my own town, very clean by Indian standards, Bengali-Assamese migrants are creating ghettoes. What can we do? All the trains are from UP, Bengal to various Indian metroes exporting Bhaiyyas. Nothing much these poor people also can do since their leaders are like "Rogi" adityanath and other extremists. Riots and primitive barbaric society prevents them from uplifting from poverty in their home states.

I think Mumbai is too small to accomodate this many migrants. What the government should do is to build many bridges and tunnels from the islands to the mainland so that migrants don't have to live so close to where they can find work.
