Errr..... what would that be?

Don't remember, prior to the late 80s, India had its own version of soft drinks as it bar many foreign food product from enter India for the sake of economic independence. I'm an older guy so I remember this out of memory. I did a quick check on the web but couldn't find anything except that Pepsi entered India in 89. So this must had happened prior to the late 80s. Maybe the older Indians can share on this.

Having a cola drink(Thums UP) is not copying :lol:. Coke bought those brands & even today Thums Up outsells Coke in India.

Thanks for sharing. The labeling and wording look like pepsi and coke.

So, why did coke bought these and paid so much money ... it could have stood with its own brands.

e.g. Russia doesn't buy J-11 (a copy of Su-27) ...

-- Coke bought Limca and Thums up because it found value in those brands, which they didn't have.

True. But India has one of the most closed economy. Indian economy was famous for inventing the local brand of Coke and Pepsi.:rofl:

Now lets talk about "the most closed economy". Please back it ip and i will come with the correct answer.

And please .... Whats with local brands of cold drinks ??? They exists every where.
Did you forget in China there is a local brand for almost everything ???
