Why was Turkey the first Islamic country to recognize the state of Israel?

You know what was interesting in this topic - the Austrain guy said he was a convert. I wonder who he converted with to have such deformed views. One of the things the mainstream Muslim communities in the EU really fail to do is support converts. They then become easy prey for extremists.

lol, Turkey is not an Islamic country.

Probably the closes thing to an Islamic country is Saudi Arabia.
Even Saudi Arabia is not 100% Islamic.

Turkey is a secular country with laiklik as the governing philosophy.

Their country, their choice.

Its a pretty good move actually. Israel was a young state that very much needed allies or at least states that didn't want it to be squashed. This led to a lot of benefits to Turkey such as Israel's pro-Turkey stance on Armenia. MOSSAD even helped out Turkish intelligence in taking key figures like Abdullah Ocalan.

The Palestinian flag symbolizes the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire which was influenced by Britain and France during WWI.
I can’t say the same for the Jews who have always been good citizens of Turkey and the Ottoman empire and a friend to the Turks... all until Erdogan decided to show off as a leader of the Muslims by exploiting the Israel vs Palestine conflict.
I am happy with the way Israel treats them Palestinians though. They fought against the Turks so Allah punished them with the Jews instead... Let them enjoy it. :enjoy:

That's what we have been telling Turks all the previous time, we said that their fake Ottoman empire was controlled by the Jews till the point that 4 ministries used to be lead by 4 Jews in 1913. So How on earth would a country with Jewish deep state oppose the creation of Israel? It'd never happen, so they help the Jews to get more lands in Palestine in return Turks get some loans from European banks.

Pakistan should be an Islamic country.

you have a narrative problem.

Pakistan is as islamic country in the world as muslim is in the world on average.
respect the country you have rather than whiny attitude of a closet extremist.

Kemal Ataturk was one of the greatest leaders of the XX century. Turkey is the ideal goal that Pakistan ought to aspire to. And I ask my Turkish friends to say it "as it is". That might wake some people here who have smoked on the hard opiate of the people. It seriously injures the mind. And here is the shocker. Your probably going to get most of the anti-secular rants from those nicely ensconced in the secular West. Hypocracy at it's finest.

This operation was done by the ''old'' secular Turkish members,it didnt last long but it made clear where we stand.
You were unlucky to have lost M.Ali Jinnah when he was needed the most.

Dont be ashamed of your history...

In the first half of the 19th century, no foreigners were allowed to purchase land in Palestine.[citation needed] This was official Turkish policy until 1856 and in practice until 1867.[5] When it came to the national aspirations of the Zionist movement, the Ottoman Empire opposed the idea of Jewish self-rule in Palestine, fearing it may lose control of Palestine after recently having lost other territories to various European powers. It also took issue with the Jews, as many came from Russia, which sought the empire's demise.[6] In 1881 the Ottoman governmental administration (the Sublime Porte) decreed that foreign Jews could immigrate to and settle anywhere within the Ottoman Empire, except in Palestine and from 1882 until their defeat in 1918, the Ottomans continuously restricted Jewish immigration and land purchases in Palestine.[6]

The Ottoman Land Code of 1858 "brought about the appropriation by the influential and rich families of Beirut, Damascus, and to a lesser extent Jerusalem and Jaffa and other sub-district capitals, of vast tracts of land in Syria and Palestine and their registration in the name of these families in the land registers".[8] Many of the fellahin did not understand the importance of the registers and therefore the wealthy families took advantage of this. Jewish buyers who were looking for large tracts of land found it favorable to purchase from the wealthy owners. As well many small farmers became in debt to rich families which led to the transfer of land to the new owners and then eventually to the Jewish buyers.

Both of these quotes are gonna fall on deaf ears.

We're indeed very unlucky to lose Quaid so early on...
