Atatürk was a Ottoman soldier before anything else, he fought for the empire in different battles, he was awarded by Ottoman Sultans but when the time came he had to do what had to be done.

ataturk was a strong military commander who saved Turkey during WW1.

However the ataturk was irreligious.

Thanks, I was aware of some of his exploits but that gives a more clearer picture. In reality, I fell in love with the man after reading his quote "Men, I am not ordering you to attack. I am ordering you to die...".
