Why to be proud of being a Pakistani

Everyone has their own opinion sir - one man's word cannot be the word of a Nation.

By the way , you have missed my point , please read my last part again - its not about being proud of fighting wars but being proud of standing tall & showing bravery in the face of all those odds.

Thanks

Whether the nation was fed lies or not..is another debate perhaps for another time.
Resilience is a quality embodied in the Pakistani nation...But just standing brave and tall isnt enough.
Moving along with the same focus and determination is important..
Standing brave and tall in front of a train.. when you remember that the last time you did so it smashed you in the face and broke three of your ribs.. isnt exactly admirable.
What is admirable is to show adaptability, clear national objective..and awareness of surroundings. the brave and the bold always get the ten minutes of fame in history.. but in the long run.. it needs a lot more...
And that more is what this nation exhibits time and time again..but fails to keep it constant.. in layman terms.. we have, are and will face the worst storms and bear them with a smile.. but whether we remember to build the next shelter out of concrete and steel rather than of hay and twigs.. remains to be seen...

Still.. for all its worth.. everything we have faced as a nation ..our fault or not.. we have acquitted ourselves admirably.

Great Thread, Although I do not see all events by the eyes of Thread Opener. For Instance he's tried to show Musharraf Era as a misfortune for Pakistan, which is totaly a false claim If not a Blatant Lie. By the way Great Concept.

Each action cannot be justified or looked at from a realistic angel as sometimes there is more to the story that what our eyes can see.

In my opinion the human courage worths more than actual occurrence & regardless of the consequences. A person wearing a suicide jacket and getting underneath an invading enemy country's tank can look stupid to one but to some its all about the courage not the action or weather if it made any difference or not.

We still are trying to shape our national character & in that we need to tell our youth what is there that we can say that we are proud of - our resilience & courage to stand up against the odds.

You can have your own opinion but be advised this thread is not to be turned into a political d!ck measuring contest.

Patroitsm and hardwork are the pillars of a nation, pakistan has been through tough times but it doesnt matter, leave the past behind and march towards prosperity, and of course i would love to see pakistan leading asia alongwith india and china.

I hope sooner or later that does happen -- it will make a hell of a lot easier the journey towards an Asian century.

No Indian has a problem with you guys praising your country. After all every person has that right. Its just that when you spread lies, falsify history and wrongly accuse India to raise your own patriotic feelings that people get irked. Check my first post and you will get an idea.

Pakistan was made as a homeland for Muslims not for Islam. Pakistan is to be a secular country where people of any religion, caste, creed can live in harmony and peace as said by Quaid e Azam.

The contradiction lies in the sections in bold. You cant profess to be a homeland for Muslims and then say that every other religion is welcome as well. And on top of that you self-appoint yourself as the leader of the Islamic world. And what to say of the blasphemy laws. No secular country has such laws.

Sadly, Jinnah's message was either inherently flawed or misunderstood.

So that means your father and mother America and Israel are not Secular countries. America was made on Christian values and Israel was made as a homeland for jews but they are still secular. We welcome every other religion it doesn't matter if Pakistan was made for muslims. I'm more of a Christian than a Muslim but that doesn't mean another Muslim is more superior than me or I'm less patriotic than him/her.
And this blasphemy law was made by a corrupt fundie dictator named Zia ul Haq.

So kindly get that through your head.
