Why the US May Go to War in the SCS

I am not confusing you dude!..........All I have been trying to do is Debunking this BS about "Why the US May Go to War in the SCS"...US and China are partners in making money why would US or China spoil that. .I would have discussed or debated better if the topic on hand was "Why the US May not Go to War in the SCS"
I agree completely. I did not say whether they would or not.
What i just said that you should not
1) boast and start chest thumping about US power.
2) Do not make contradictory statements (printing $) and that too in the same thread.

You are not making sense anymore.
If you knew printing was out of question, why did you say so? You are contradicting yourself and trying to confuse me.

Yeah i knew you copied. :D
That is what i said dude of chennai, US may be a superpower but not an absolute power. US may defeat many countries on the globe, but not every country on the globe. So do not ever again say that US can defeat anyone, anywhere.

P.S. You were chest thumping and you know it.

Where did I say Absolute power...that only belongs to GOD!....don't again say "US may be a superpower"...It is the only at this point...Yes I was chest thumping...but its the truth is it not!

Dude, i agree with everything except:
1) US of A can defeat anyone, anywhere.
2) Dumped trillion $ can be printed in US to save economy.

Man try to read the whole thread and read in between the lines. The printing money part was only stated because you said that China hold most of it....so don't act all goody goody!....Well let me tell it to you again..US is the only superpower and yes you should flaunt it if you got it!

Please, leave economics out of it. You are too stubborn to understand.
As for the superpower part, i am not saying US is not. US is superpower, But US can not, CAN NOT defeat anyone, anywhere.

Point # 1 I stand by..Point # 2 ..I have already explained to you why I stated that...so move dude!

Which part?
Hhmmm, lets say the place where everybody's head bows down in "absolute" spiritualism on arrival. :D

Your imagination counts for nothing. Nobody cares about that here.
And how do you think people is going to regard your opinion -- nothing.

And for the economy part, Please refer to currency market in any good authors economic textbook and you will come to know that currency market is quite dependent on reputation. In a case where China dumps it's trillion $ forex ( or simply burn, which you can imagine ) US economy will come crumbling down. No matter how fast you can print $.
Yeah...As if Nobel Prize winning economists have never heard that fanciful theory before. Must be shocking news that this little corner of the Internet have something no one else does.

As for "my dear" part of your imagination, i think you have quite less opportunity with some logical debate in a respectful manner. All you have faced till now is bashing and chest thumping.
Whenever I read/hear anyone claimed the US was 'defeated' in Viet Nam, I know that person have next to no interest in debating the subject in any rational manner. I am willing to bet you did not know that the famous NVA general Vo Nguyen Giap lost every battle he ever fought, including the ones against the French before the US got involved in Indochina.

The Soviet Union collapsed. That is a defeat, is it not ?

Well though i agree with some of your points, i have to say there was no way the U.S was going to win the war in Vietnam, as far as Vietnam had the support of U.S.S.R and more importantly China.
Yes, there was a way the US, more specifically the US/SVN alliance, could have won the war.

In Viet Nam, there was a great difference between the political goals. For North Viet Nam, the goal was unification. For South Viet Nam, the goal was partition. If political goals determine military objectives, then eventually the US/SVN alliance would be worn down.

Think about it. As soon as the defeated army fled across a border, the other side stop pursuing. What kind of prosecution of a war is that ? That is essentially what happened in VN. The NVA lost a few battles, their battered troops fled north over the 17th parallel, then the US/SVN forces stopped. No matter how much overwhelming air power one side may bring to bear, it will always be ground forces who will make or break any war, and when there is a cessation of pursuit of a defeated army, what do you think the defeated army is going to do over time ? How about rebuild and regroup, over and over ? If political goals determines military objectives, then the political demarcation of the 17th parallel determined the eventual demoralization of the US armed forces.

and we would do this why again??
it's obvious China is going to have to do a few things before it even get's to the point of war over SCS

China Vs. Vietnam
China Vs. Taiwan/Japan
which at point it'll lead to this

View attachment 145943

total annihilation isn't worth it.
this would be no bush war in the Middle East or Africa.

Taiwan and Japan are friendly but neither side is intent on intervening military on behalf of the other. It'll be China, Thailand, Cambodia and Taiwan vs. Vietnam if Vietnam tries anything.

I agree with you on this. Thats why i said there was no way the U.S was going to win this war, as far as the north Vietnamese communist forces had the support of their patrons across the border in China/U.S.S.R. The U.S and its south Vietnamese forces would have easily run down the North vietnamese in a matter of weeks if they had launched a full scale ground invasion/assault in the north, But instead they didnt since they were scared of a chinese involvement like in Korea. This is the main reason the war was lost. U.S officlas indeed miscalculated, since i dont think the Chinese would have intervened directly(thoguh they had military advisers/covert soldiers/logitiscs officers in north Vietnam that time) had this happened, the circumstances here were different, and U.S military officers were for full scale ground invasion/assault of the north to cut off supplies/support from China, But U.S diplomats/officals refused to take this risk. So the war was already lost at this point, once they made that decision. It was a bluff from the chinese which the U.S fell for unfortunately.
So i agree the U.S military didnt lost the war per se, it was the foolish decisions of U.S officials/diplomats who made the U.S lost the war/withdraw without achieving its objectives.

I think let us admit, that even the one who made the decision was wrong was diplomat / officials, and not the army, it impact the entire theater. It just like playing chess. If you did some wrong move, you'll be defeated. War is not entirely decided by a general, but by the president. Army is only the units on the chess board. While the president is the player who play the game.
