Why Saudi Arabia didnt bailout Pakistan?

IK-MBS.jpg

Imran Khan recently visited Saudi Arabia after taking charge of primer-ship. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razzak Dawood. The visit came days after the Saudi information minister visited Pakistan and met with Khan and other top civil and military officials.Khan's choice of the kingdom for his first official visit, as well as comments from his finance minister, led to speculation that Pakistan will seek a large loan from its Saudi allies to avoid another IMF bailout. Much hype was created in the national and international media about this trip. There were also news that China was upset about involvement of Saudi Arabia as a third "strategic" partner of CPEC. Which was later denounced by Fawad Chaudry ( Minister of Information and Broadcasting) through a press conference.

Sources have revealed that prior to Khan's visit to Kingdom , maters were finalized regarding Saudis helping Pakistan with huge investment as well as deffered-payments on oil products along with US $ 6-8 Billions support to economy. This was all linked to Imran Khan's agreement to few of the Saudis demands. It was assured to custodian of the two holy mosques that Imran Khan would agree to Saudi demands. However Imran khan after consultation with his colleagues including people in armed forces politely declined some of the demands especially openly supporting Yemen War and not sending troops if need arises over the next few years.

Pakistani pilots flew Royal Saudi Air Force planes against South Yemen in 1969 and Pakistani troops were deployed in the kingdom at the height of the first Iraq War. In return, the Saudis have bailed out Pakistan financially and diplomatically in times of trouble. However things have changed in the recent past, in 2014 Pakistan rejected a request by its “most allied” ally in the Middle East to deploy troops against Bahrain and displayed the same reluctance to join Saudi Arabia’s fight in Yemen.

The other major concern was with regard to Iran. Geographic contiguity and greater cooperation between Islamabad and Tehran in the recent years have created anxieties among Saudis despite repeated reassurances by Pakistani side. Leadership in Kingdom wanted Pakistan to pressurize Iran and was also looking for a naval base at Jiwani which is right next to Gwader.

Saudi Arabia and US are strategic allies. Last year Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Donald Trump signed agreements to bolster the military capabilities of Saudi Arabia, said to be worth $350 billion over 10 years and $110 billion that will take effect immediately. Saudis conveyed to Khan US concerns over Pakistan's policy in Afghanistan. Saudis expressed the desired that they would like to see issues between Pakistan and US to be resolved, one such issue being Shakil Afridi's release.

Pakistan also expressed fears that grew dramatically after Saudi Arabia did not veto Pakistan’s inclusion on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in February 2018.
The short answer is they are puppets of USA. When it comes to pleasing America there is no shortage of money. $110 billion for US defence industry and a feather on Trumps hat. But here is the thing. All this money is just to please USA. When it actually comes to fighting despite the $100s billions spent on weapons they will call up Pakistan or US Marine Corps. And they could not spare $7 billion for their ummah brother Pakistan.

I think right now Saudi leadership is more concerned from the mess they have created in Turkey and that has changed the whole situation once again.

They did in the sense that only three votes were required to block the move and Turkey voted in our favor and China only pulled out cause Saudi backed off. Hence China's vote wouldn't have made a difference.
True. Minimum of three votes are required to bloack the FATF. Turkey, China and Saudia stood against the FATF vote but then Saudia pulled out. With KSA pulling out that left only two - Turkey/China and the boat was doomed to sink. Seeing this reality and that it was all over China jumped out of the sinking boat. The Turks being Turks stuck to their position and sank with the boat.

Moral of the story . When the crap hits the fan only Turks/Chinese stand by Pakistan.

Ps. Did somebody mention Uighur Muslim or Armenian genocide? Answer "Mmm never heard of it boss .. never". Both are Zionist conspiracies against Turkey and China.

.
Because Saudis are sorting out their own economy. And for anyone who says KSA doesn’t care about GCC, its bailing out its arab neigbours Bahrain, Iraq(not neighbour but comes in middle east) and Jordan.

Yes it does because they are Arabs. Ethnic affiliation clearly supercedes religious affiliation.

Most pertinent paragraph. And of course, most important aspect, duly highlighted. Why pay money for services not rendered? That is the basic rule of a commercial and economic activity! Something which is reinforced in succeeding paragraph.

Very perceptive here.

This is a stupid question. Looking at KSA history with Pakistan, if you still think KSA is your saviour, you are stupid.

Modi isolated pakistan in true sense.

.
This could be the reason, why Pakistani militants who die in Iraq and Syria are not buried in same grave yards as a common Iranian.
Indeed... for the same reason a different Que for GCC/Arabs, EU/US and Asians at airports until recently..

I think saudiz wanted us to go against iran in return for a bailout. But we cant do that, iran holds equal importance for pakistan as saudi Arabia. Iran as an enemy of pakistan is a bad bad idea. Same pakistan as enemy of iran is a nightmare.

We would like to keep the balance while the current saudi ruler the young prince is an adventurer and a bad ruler in my opnion. Arrogance is a sin. We cant be arrogamt as saudi ruler. We have faith and we have brains.
