Russia's relation with India haven come crashing down, but distance between them has definitely increased. Russia will not let loose its alley of 70 years. However, this distancing is because India's inclination towards USA. India is also right in developing relations with US and western world as these countries are biggest market of Indian human resource export. India certainly has abundance. So it is pure economic reasons for which India is looking towards western world.
China and Russia enjoy very good relations. they slightly distanced out after disintegration of USSR. Glasnost and Perestroika took its toll. Albeit, some good results as well, supremacy of USSR was badly compromised.
Results of these two doctrines were catastrophic with emergence of single superpower making it a unipolar world. The sole superpower played havoc, especially in ME.

With India inclined towards US, Russia sees losing its control over Indian Ocean and Persian gulf. ME is already in trouble and they are sitting in US lap. South China sea, though disputed, still remains under the influence of China. Pakistan remains the only country which can support Russia's presence in the vicinity of Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
Furthermore, nuclear and ballistic capability is one of the major factors in nominating superpower. By joining hands with China and Pakistan, Russia can create imbalance of nuclear and ballistic strengths, against US. Thus emerging as consortium of next generation superpower. Not to forget its relations with Iran, which is a nuclear power though undeclared.
