WHY PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS IN CHINA

I don't even know if he is Chinese, seems like he is desensitised from everything happening in China.

Either he is right and everything we said did not happened in China or he don't know shit. Or the third one which is he just didn't care, if this is the case, then i would hate to be his neighbor, because he would be the type that watch your house burn down with fire and just sit there and watch and probably drink his tea.
Lol, see what Indians think of Chinese neighbors

Indian trolls don't know that almost all Indians living and studying in China love China so much, no matter how hard Indian trolls try to smear China, they can't change this reality on the ground.

Most homeless in the US does not have property under their name. The people who they "can" rely on are relatives who are not legally obligated to help them.
lol, that you would be wrong.

Most people have place to go, again, it's not like you told me an address and I will have to drop you there, I will need to run background check on the address. And as I said I had NOT EVER seen one family refuse an escort in my 11 years of Policing Service; I don't know where you are getting your data from.

And you don't need a properties under your name to be permanent address. Otherwise all renter will be homeless.

You keep saying family. Yet again, how many adults have you escorted back to their husband or wife? Even when none refused to take these individuals in, they are in no way obligated to host them indefinitely as these are not their permanent home. Renters are legally protected by agreement.

How many Homeless people do you think were kicked out by the husband and wife? Dude, it's aint cheap being married, if you are kicked out by the wife or the husband, chances are you will have a place to stay because you would put yourself in Hotel, Motel or someplace else. You don't normally become a drifter after a falling out with your husband/wife.

Rental obligation only extended to completing that particular contract, renewing of said contract were NOT GUARANTEED, it is up to the landlord and they have no obligation to renew it. And one contract usually last half a year to a year, this is a bit far from being "Permanent" don't you think?? And if that is okay, then how come you think a friend or family member agree to let a person stay for similar amount of time did not count?? I mean landlord even have power to kick you out within the contract if you do not abide by their rules (like getting pets when it's not allowed) so how is it exactly different than your family allowing you to stay for 6 months and then kick you out if you break their rules??

WHY PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS IN CHINA

Homelessness is a severe social issue in China. People go homeless because of natural disasters, migration, and discrimination.

China is prone to natural disasters. These unstoppable forces displace many people from their homes. An excellent example is the Yunnan earthquake of 2000. This disaster caused over 92,000 people to go homeless. Thus, people have nowhere to go when a catastrophe destroys their communities. They have no choice but to make do with the little they have. They can also move to a better place, which brings us to migration.

Migration from rural to urban areas is a common occurrence in Asian nations. With the world’s largest population, China is especially vulnerable to it. The massive wealth inequality doesn’t help either. People migrate from their rural homes to urban cities in hopes of a better life. They seek better employment opportunities and facilities like education. The cities already have large populations, though. They have limited resources as it is, so the migrants have a hard time getting their share. While slums are available, even housing can be unaffordable for the unfortunate ones. Thus, they have no choice but to settle for a life of homelessness.

Discrimination is yet another social aspect that contributes to homelessness. Citizens all over the world face discrimination over something. In China, the two most glaring reasons appear to be mental sickness and old age. Mentally disabled people find it difficult to maintain ties. This becomes especially true when families migrate. According to a study in Xiangtan, over 2400 schizophrenic individuals went homeless. Homelessness has also been common among people of old age. Many elderly individuals separate from their families, especially if they are sick. Homeless children is also an issue in the country.

Aside from these major reasons, there is another severe issue China contends with. The Cultural Revolution destroyed many child welfare homes. This has caused many children to face abandonment. The number of homeless children stands at a grim 66,000.

@Hamartia Antidote @F-22Raptor @VCheng Seems like our dear Chinese member want to discuss why Homeless "Crisis" cannot be solved in the US, maybe we should do the same and wonder why it is a problem and in one source labelled a "Pandemic" in China.

What a load of crock!! Journalism surely is dead in the West!!

Those who live in glass houses, what awaits them ...

I was commenting on the article, not you. Western Mainstream Media are proven pathological liars, quoting them is worthless. The West is a rotting carcass and is destined to meet a horrifying end.

Let this be the last time we cross paths. I have neither the time nor words to waste on your type.

So who are these family members you were talking about? How long do you think they will host the homeless before kicking the bum out? There is a huge different between having a home you are entitled to from living under the roof of your relatives. It's funny you refuse to see the obvious.

Well, you need to remember this.

I counted these people are homeless, you on the other hand, counted people who beg in big city like Beijing when they have a Hukou or home in say a village in Anhui, is not.

So you need to ask yourself, how long does that person, once escorted back to Anhui would go back out and beg in Beijing. As you say, government can't stop these people from coming back. Because if they do return, then how is it different than people who have place they are entitled to stay and they choose not to.

All these are short term "home' sure, you own a home somewhere, I own a home in China too, that does not mean I live there.

You are asking the wrong question pal, I already said people who have place to stay but out on the street are homeless, you said otherwise.

Well, that's not much of a loss to me or this forum LOL

Since you made NO POINT, only assumption.

Few if any goto the city just to sleep on the street there. Most either can't find work or lost their job, and no longer have the means to return home. When they cannot find better opportunities, but instead keep getting rounded up and sent back, they will eventually give up as traveling ain't free. It's not like you can walk from Anhui to Beijing. And no, these aren't short term home as Hukou is for life. You can't sell it, you can't throw it away, you can't surrender it.

.
Honestly, China may have tons of own problems, but you have definitely picked a wrong subject to smear China with, considering you know how serious the homelessness in the US is. Anyone who has extended experience living in both countries knows how ridiculous you made yourself look. This thread might be your waterloo. What happened to you? You are getting more extreme these days.

Wow dude, I used to think you were just misinformed but not a crazy China basher, why don't you ask if there are thiefs in China. Duh, most homeless in China actually have a home in their respective villages, but they might be homeless when they reached a new city and lost a job or some landlord evicted them, normally they would go back go bck to their respective homes. You want to know real homeless, go to HK, those are really sick, fckers sleeping in cages. Thanks to CAPITALISM. LOL.

Guys Jhungary is a half bred Vietnamnese refugee from HK, dad was a GI and met the mum during his RnR. He is very angry at HK being handed bck to China.

Not true. He immigrated from Guangdong with his parents when he was a kid.

That's still the same tho, I mean how do you discount when someone is "giving up" and stay at the village? Because you still can't guarantee they won't leave...

I mean, you can't walk but it's not that expensive to travel either I mean sure if you talk about Anhui to Beijing how about major city closer to where they were??

The process of them leaving home is the same as people leaving their shelter and become homeless, that's why people who I used to escort are considered Homeless even EVERYONE of them have a place to go, so what make you think it's different if you have a place or not, the issue here, as I explained multiple times, is not whether or not they have a place to stay, the issue here is they don't want to stay at the place they can stay. That's what make people homeless. It's the same if that place was theirs or they can use, or even a rental.
