How do you protect a carrier or long-ranged bomber? Pakistan can't call upon the various bases the US or UK can, even China struggles to project power and it has long-range escorts and replenishment capabilities. Ignore for a second the US who are in a league of there own and look at Russia, China or India and what they sail with when they put their capital ships to sea.
Kilo, Udaloy, Slava, Admiral Gorshkov, replenishment vessels...
...all to protect one Kirov class, Petr Vilikiy, the flagship of the Russian Northern Fleet as it sails near the Norwegian coast, under constant Norwegian eyes.
Pakistan's Navy is wholly inadequate to provide long-range protection for capital naval assets. You can dream of carriers, but there is a lot more to power projection then one ship and some aircraft. They require their own support team or auxiliary ships and defenders and that's expensive and resource intensive.
The first and the foremost step is to set up a goal, then establish and focus on the priorities.
Generate revenues , create collaboration and cooperate with the nations that follow the similar goals.
One thing that our decision makers mostly ignore is the quality and both quantity of man power they can get to achieve their goals.
Ambitious projects like the ones you have mentioned can become a reality unless there is a desire to excel.
28th May is an example.A journey of decades.A story of setting a path and following it till the end.
Taking the people into confidence to achieve something for this country.More than that believing upon them.
Incentivize it.
If a section of employees/professionals doing their 9-5 desk job and earning salaries can not do it for you. Then perhaps its a better time to gather relevant people and give them a task that they desire to achieve for their country by any means available. That are not bounded by work hours.
People like you maybe who have a burning desire.
Out of the box.But yes, when you are Pakistan ,out of the box is a norm.
steel mill can be utilized, iron ore can be imported.. technical know how is acailable with allies.. massive ship turbine tech is needed with chinese experience of building their aircraft carriersYou will pay it?
We need raw material making industries, Universites, for R&D SO we can make these on our own.
will you write the cheque or shall I?To most of you this might come as a surprise that Pakistan policy for upholding justice as envisioned in constitution to help the oppressed anywhere in the world, requires not only diplomatic push to champion for the oppressed but also to use force projection to subjugate that change. The global powers have failed to protect many persecuted minorities and nations, a new order is needed
in order to push this global agenda to help the persecuted, Pakistan need planes like 4 to 5 sq of H6, 2 aircraft fleet along with 5 Type 75 for 1 to 2 brigade size deployment.
Can this new global alliance include Pakistan and new nations like china? What do you folks thiink?
New Recruit
Interesting thread. Here are my thoughts:
1. It is natural that as Pakistan's population reaches towards 300 million and its economy begins to strengthen, she will aspire to be a major power with global reach, at least to the extent of France.
2. Now that the UN is a defunct organization, a new alternative is needed. A new UN could be started with Brazil, Turkey, China, Pakistan, Russia as major players, and other nations could join it.
3. On the part of Pakistan, a force projection capability could be created. @RJV has a wonderful idea about a delta wing with two AL-31 class engines that would be able to strike at range and act in a number of interesting ways. Then there is, as you pointed out, the idea of an aircraft carrier. Perhaps Pakistan could start small with A mini aircraft carrier. Not a proper one, a 5000-10000 ton UAV, helicopter and prop plane carrier.
4. A closer military alliance could be built with Turkey and Malaysia. This can be started with a simple exchanging of a brigade. So, a Pak brigade would be in Turkey and a Turkish brigade in Pakistan. Similarly with Malaysia. Anyone else who wants to join will require the approval of these three main players.
5. Pakistan as a new East India Company. Great powers are built by economic strength. Pakistan can start on this journey by building "Pak Malls" veritable East India Company trading posts. Basically shops in the lower levels run by Pakistanis and the upper level will be homes. Such "Pak Malls" need to be developed as far and wide as possible to every mid sized to large city in the world.
Pakistanis would be able to buy shops and do their business abroad and over time gain a footing in that city.
