Why Pakistan Matters To The Next U.S. President

Only the weak take solace from Acknowledgement from one that are lesser then them on Moral grounds

Pakistan is in china hands these days , and whole american lobby is having a beef with china these days , Trump whole economic campaign was based on against china taking away jobs , Trump will put India incharge of bullying China , that bullying will only put India on situation like Pakistan had in past being puppet of America

I tell you what TBH Pakistan and India are always used as Prostitute by these western powers for there own benefits .

Pakistan US relations will depend on how vigorously US want to pursue containment of China. Also tilt towards confronting China at South China sea like his predecessor Obama. If US continue to pursue current policy then obviously India is propped up for that reason and our role diminishes. We are looked at in only Afghan context and that's where Modi raises the terrorism boggy and with the help of Indian lobby and economical muscle tries to undermine our relations with US.
It depends on our FO and diplomats to dilute Modi agenda on creating Pakistan lobby and hiring lobbyists for that purpose which still they haven't done after 8 F-16 fiasco. That shows our foreign office competence. How on earth country like our don't have a foreign minister defies any logic. Trump will be inner looking initially as he takes the reigns of power but year or two down the line Indian lobby will try to incite him with terrorism boggy again. I won't be surprise if India creates some terror attack drama again or raises the heat on the borders to attract Trump attention under the guise of terrorism.

Lobbying has a marginal role if the interests don't converge. Pakistan and US have numerous nodes to fix. An example can be of Saudis who spent billions in lobbying yet there was a bipartisan vote in Senate overriding the President's decision thereby allowing victims of 9/11 to sue Saudi govt.
Another parallel economic , financial and political framework is emerging countering the western dominated brettonwoods institutions. Pakistan is part of CPEC and OBOR, Pakistan's interests diverge with US in Afghanistan, over China and nuclear program. Pakistan will definitely have a decent working and security relationship with US but the tilt will be towards China and Russia.

Pakistan's tilt towards Russia has begun, i hope Trump ensures it continues this way.

The difference is, the Yankees preferred to shoot U.S.S.R from Pakistan's shoulder while you never had any issues with them in the first place. :p:

US never trained any of the religious fanatics on their soil. Nor did they directly got involved in the power struggle, and the result ?? Pakistan is still struggling to get rid of the ghost of the Afghan war.

But the case of India is entirely different, firstly India and China are having direct issues at various levels. So it is in our Interest to acquire maximum support against China internationally, USA is just one among many. Secondly there is not going to be any direct military confrontation between India and China. And thirdly and most unlikely, if we ever go to war with each other it will be on our own terms, not on the behest of USA. :P
isn't it the fact that pakistan started helping mujahideen without US.

I must give it to the so called Journalists like Wajahat S Khan who would produce a "deep analysis" on anything at moment's notice. The thing for me is that does Pakistan carries any such significance for US from strategic prospective? Answer is clearly a big NO! Pakistan and US relationships have historically been of military nature. US now sees Pakistan the prospect of Afghanistan rather than a stand alone country (AF-PAK theory)
Pakistan's role in Afghanistan is now reduced significantly with militants coming back for a political role. I don't see , in all honesty, Pakistan being able to contribute anything significant to ongoing peace process in Afghanistan. And that would mean Pakistan getting lesser policy attention from US and that may also lead to more hostilities between US and Pakistan.

Now that does make some sense. :)
