Because Pakistan is not Iran! :p:

Seriously, apart from politicking, do your politicians have any perspective plans for 'make in Pakistan'?
Yes Pakistan is not Iran and we don't plan we make things in Pakistan. Go compare completed defense projects of Pakistan with your country. The only difference is we are focused on achieving what we need instead of being big mouths.

I see an improvement in the sense of humor on PDF of late! :smokin:

Under a clever strategy, Development steps proceed like that;

1-Offset productions/Assembly minor parts of foreign projects
2-Licence productions/Reverse Engineering
3-Risk share collaborations/productions
4-Your own design production

The capabilities of countries are locating inside of one group for all sectors. Countries must climb each steps one by one to reach more difficult period. Turkey's experiences showed me that jumping 1 to 3 or 4 is quite difficult as long as You don't transfer qualified engineers from abroad.

Yeah man what's the point of bragging about make in India when two of your most ambitious projects aka LCA and Arjun MBT have failed to make it to the level required by your armed forces even after spending 30 years on it....

What's the Problem with you buddy.....as long as we get these toys to defend our motherland we really shouldn't be bothered about where they come from.....and no offence but since when did Iran start building stealth aircraft????????
it was revealed on 2nd february 2013:agree:

It gives them the butt hurt when they see our successful projects.:-)

Exactly. Pakistan's Idea of joining JF-Thunder project and taking help from china was more practical compared to India's ambitions to make their own from scratch. We have it inducted and they are still trying to finish the project even though they started long before us.

One more thing that I want to get off my chest....Pakistanis please don't create threads that provide fodder for Indian trolls otherwise instead of Indians you guys will be on the receiving end

.
jf-thunder with the help of china, al-khalid with the help of china and Ukraine, apc's copys of american apc's, UAV's with the help of italy and a copy of chinese CH-3 which we call "burraq", space program with the help of china, guns(mp5,g3,lmg...)copys of german guns, SUBS with the help of France.
we should look at iran which has made indigeniously some great drones, subs, tanks, apcs, stealth aircrafs f-313 , heas shafq jet , hesa saeqh ... they also make transport aircrafts.... they even export cars to russia,

If they can why can't we do so ?

Lol look at Iran for what? They are great at making card board model aircraft. No offence.

No single country produces all of the systems, subsystems of these things you mentioned. Lots of things are outsourced and there are lots of JVs. Considering Pakistan's literacy rate, economy and fucked up political system, its a miracle that we are able to produce these quality weapons even though with huge assistance from China etc.

"Practical" is a relative term.

Practicality for us would mean urgent replacement of older aircraft, sanction-proof military hardware at a cost that fits our budget while serving our requirements and specifications.

Practicality for India may mean developing the technology and having the capability to mass manufacture most of the components in-house.

India's vision for LCA seems planned out for a longer strategic benefit than ours.

Well JF was too quickly inducted, hence you have an aircraft that is not properly tested, hence the fatal crash in PAF. The reliability of JF is questionable at best of times, same goes for its Chinese weapons. With the Tejas, HAL/DRDO have learnt a lot when it comes designing and manufacturing a 4th gen aircraft from the ground up. Sure we still have much to learn in terms of engines but on the whole we have better understanding of aircraft design on the long run. With the Tejas we have managed to create an aircraft that has better reliability, proven through extensive trials in harsh conditions. Some conditions where many 4.5 gen aircraft have failed. From conception, design, to testing, weapons integration etc it is a priceless gain in experience.

Our commercial/industrial sector seems stuck on Level 1 in this case.

We haven't used any leverage to license produce Japanese automobiles and motorcycles despite our population suffering decades of over-priced and outdated designs. While the same companies have transferred key tech to India.

Surprising, no?

Well I'm not lying they really produce all this stuff and I only mentionned a part their productions

This delay created serious issues for Indian Airforce, the main objective was to get them a jet to replace aging fleet of Mig-21 and situation is the same after 30 years!
